1298：A benefactor at my side and appreciation to the guru！
Prostrations to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Dharma protector Achi, the Lineage gurus, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Greetings, fellow believers and Dharma brothers, I am Lien Yi Ting of group 1, and my Dharma name is Hui Shan Drolma. I am grateful to Rinpoche for allowing me hereby to share this praise of the guru for liberating my grandmother through the incomparable wondrous Chod puja, helping me and my family, and also to share the fate of my refuge, and repent the negative karma I have made.
Before I took refuge, I submitted my resume online, and when I went to Glorious Jewel Group for the interview, I saw many medals and trophies, thinking this company is really quite special and awesome! After the interview, I started working at the Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Shop, which marked the beginning of my fate of taking refuge and learning Buddhism.
While I was working at the Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Shop, I often heard Dharma brothers praising the guru’s merits and saw those Dharma brothers with terminal cancer in good spirits, which I felt was really incredible! At that time, I wasn’t even a believer yet and just worked at the Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Shop for a short time. I am grateful for Rinpoche’s compassionate protection and blessings, which helped me. One time before class, a friend gave me a ride on the motorcycle. When we reached a downhill mountain road, because the speed was too high, we crashed into a utility pole, and I came within a step of falling into a gap about half a story high. While I was not a disciple yet, I had already received the merciful help from Rinpoche. Thanks to Rinpoche!
When I was still a student, I bought Glorious Jewel Japanese Foods as gifts for my classmates’ birthdays, and they all said the foods were very cute and delicious! A classmate had a car accident and scraped his knee, with small stones stuck inside. I shared Bao Yuan Gao from Glorious Jewel Chinese Medicine Clinic with him and told him to apply Bao Yuan Gao to the wound once it dried. He kept applying Bao Yuan Gao until the wound fully healed, leaving no scar, and later he even asked me to help him buy more!
When I was 17 years old, I thought in my mind, “The president is a Rinpoche, but why has he never spoken to me?” Until I was about to graduate from high school, one time Rinpoche came to the shop, walked up to me, and said, “I didn’t speak to you at that time because you were a child. Now you are an adult! If you have a study plan, you can tell the HR. I have many disciples who are professors and they can help you.” However, I didn’t take the help bestowed by the guru into my mind at that moment. The guru also told me that I was neither good-looking nor tall in terms of a good look or height, and instructed me to work well and not to overthink. I am thankful to Rinpoche for the earnest guidance to me and for bestowing me the help when I was not a disciple. I will listen well and devotedly follow His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche！
I repent for frequently making mistakes at work; while working at Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Shop, I made many big and small errors. I sincerely thank Rinpoche for bestowing me the opportunity to continue working in the Group, which allowed me to have the chance to represent Glorious Jewel Group, holding the charity sales in Shin Kong Hospital for four consecutive years. The proceeds from the charity sale, after deducting 5% business tax, were placed in a designated agent account to support hospice care and provide medical treatment for the poor. This enables me to join the merit sea of His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
I repent for cheating on exams as a child, skipping classes in high school, following the negative to exclude classmates, stealing money and belongings from home, running away from home, and being disobedient, which caused my family worry and distress. I repent for not donating to the monastery immediately, not cherishing the opportunity to do the morning prayer or evening prayer session, being lazy and indulgent for more than nine years since taking refuge, and performing my practice in a desultory kind of way. I broke away from precepts, didn’t practice according to teachings, had no mind of gratitude, and was selfish and self-serving. From now on, I will earnestly change myself, listen and follow instructions, and practice according to the teachings. Dharma brothers, please take me as an example. I express my appreciation to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for bestowing me the chance to donate to the monastery again.
Next, I will share how His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche helped my family.
My grandmother passed away on December 18, 2017. From her diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma until the end of her life, she did not endure the great suffering that general terminal cancer patients experience. In my childhood, my grandmother already had diabetes. At home, she often said she felt very tired and had soreness and aches in her body. At that time, I thought my grandmother was weak and fatigued because she often stayed in bed without a movement and ate very little, lacking nutrition. It was not until that day, when grandmother had become too weak to walk and was urgently taken to a nearby clinic, that it was discovered her potassium levels were critically low. After being transferred to a major hospital for examination, she was confirmed in the terminal stage of lung adenocarcinoma.
After my grandmother was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, we informed my eldest aunt abroad about my grandmother’s illness, and she then returned to take care of my grandmother. While my grandmother was in the hospital, I brought the book Happiness and Suffering, authored by Rinpoche, and asked my family to open the page of the Dharma photo of Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and show it to my grandmother. Bao Yuan Gao was left at the hospital for her to use. Although my grandmother had a poor appetite, she was able to drink the energizing tonyu imported by Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Department, eat the Genmai porridge from Eiheiji Temple, and drink the kamuzumi-sui with holy water added.
When I visited my grandmother in the hospital, she was disoriented and couldn’t recognize my mother, yet she still knew who I was. Grandma told me that someone was going to take her to see the fish, and I told her that I would take her to see them after she got better. Witnessing my grandmother’s symptoms in the hospital reminded me that the Dharma expounded by Rinpoche is true and without deception.
With utmost gratitude, I thank His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for bestowing the incomparable wondrous Chod puja to liberate my grandmother. On the morning of the Chod Puja, I woke up and told my mother that I had a dream, where my grandmother was lying in her room, and I hugged her and said goodbye. Grandma said that the Dharma Protector was very fierce, and I told her that she should listen obediently, and the Dharma Protector would protect her. On the day of the Chod puja, at the Buddhist Center, when I heard His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche chanting the Six-Syllable Mantra, I was in tears, deeply appreciating Rinpoche for liberating my grandmother. When she was alive, my grandmother was neither a vegetarian nor had she practiced Buddhism, and she had never sought an audience with His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. I am grateful to Rinpoche for not bearing to see sentient beings suffer and bestowing the incomparable wondrous Chod puja to liberate my grandmother.
The funeral ceremony for my grandmother took place on January 14, 2018. Her countenance was serene, her lips tightly sealed, and she looked as if she were asleep. The weather was clear that day. After the cremation, her bones showed incomparable wondrous signs with pale pink and light green colors, like the color of lotus flowers. I am grateful to Rinpoche! Thanks to the Dharma brothers who offered me help during my grandmother’s passing away!
At the working time on February 7, 2020, when my father was riding a motorcycle, he had an accident, crashing into a bridge pier by himself. When I arrived at the hospital, I saw that my father’s face was swollen, with wounds and covered with blood, and that his eyes were nearly injured. The doctor diagnosed him with a contusion on the hindbrain, an open fracture of the shaft of the right hand, concussion, and a compression fracture of the thoracic 10.
I told my mother that it was entirely due to the blessings of His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche that my father’s eyes were uninjured and that he survived! I appreciate the merciful blessings of Rinpoche. During my father’s rest and recovery at home, he was previously unwilling to listen to my share of the puja gatherings. Then, he attended the Great Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness, and later had the destiny to willingly visit the Glorious Jewel Vegetarian Kitchen for a meal. Although he often said food wasn’t tasty, he would eat up the whole cake in the restaurant. All of these are truly incredible. I sincerely thank His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for the compassionate blessings. After about a year of rest and recovery, my father could start to work.
Next, I would like to share that my mother developed shingles on her back, but she did not suffer the unbearable stinging pain that other patients endure. Thanks to Rinpoche’s blessings, her shingles healed in about a week and have never recurred.
During my mother’s work hours, when she asked a repairman to fix the rolling iron door, a piece of glass fell and split into two pieces. The broken glass gashed her left hand, causing a wound about two centimeters long. The repairman advised my mother to have the wound stitched. When I came home from work and heard about this accident, I immediately asked my mother to apply Bao Yuan Gao from the Glorious Jewel Chinese Medicine Clinic on the wound, and reapply it whenever the wound dried. By continuously using Bao Yuan Gao, the wound healed in about a week and left no scar at all.
I appreciate the Glorious Jewel business units established by His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. From the Glorious Jewel Chinese Medicine Clinic, the Chinese Medicine and Bao Yuan Gao enable us to regulate and maintain our health. The restaurants of the Glorious Jewel Dining company allow us to enjoy safe and cozy meals. The Glorious Jewel Japanese Food Shops provide us with high-quality Japanese foods to purchase. Glorious Jewel Fashion & Beauty and Glorious Jewel Hair Salon offer excellent products for us to use. These business units take care of disciples inside and outside, letting us eat safely and use products with more comfort!
Lastly, I pray for His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s good health, longevity, and auspiciousness; that he may always turn the Dharma wheel; and that the construction of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery will be smoothly and successfully completed. I sincerely thank all fellow believers and Dharma brothers for listening patiently.
