Event Calendar of The His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche

August 14, 2011

His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche presided over the auspicious Seventh Drikung Kagyu Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness at the Nangang Exhibition Hall in the Taipei World Trade Center. The puja was successfully completed. Over 22,000 people participated in the event, including 7 ordained monastics from Tibetan Buddhism (a Rinpoche, a Geshe, and a lama from the Gelug Order) as well as a Khenpo and a lama from the Drikung Kagyu Lineage, 18 Bhikkhus (male monastics), 53 Bhikkhunis (female monastics), and believers who traveled from Japan, France, India, China, Holland, Britain, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and so forth. The President of the Republic of China, Mr. Ma Yingjeou, as well as the Secretary-General to the President, Mr. Wu Jinlin, presented flower baskets as gifts. The baskets bore the phrase “Perfect Success” to express wishes for the Seventh Drikung Kagyu Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness presided over by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to be perfectly auspicious, and to widely benefit endless beings with merits. The puja started punctually at 8:30 AM. Escorted by prayer flags, banners, musical instruments, and an incense burner, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche arrived at the spacious venue, and the attendees, with their palms together, waited eagerly for Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to ascend the Dharma throne.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche bestowed the following enlightenment: Firstly, thank you for getting up early in order to attend today’s Drikung Kagyu Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness. Tibetan and Han Buddhism are both based on Exoteric Buddhism. The main difference is the process of cultivation. Tibetan Buddhism, which consists of Esoteric and Exoteric Buddhism, was transmitted from India and China in ancient times. Han Buddhism is mostly based on Exoteric Buddhism, which contains the basic theory for all orders of Buddhism. A practitioner who would like to practice Esoteric Buddhism must learn Exoteric Buddhism for at least ten years, and then the guru will, depending on the practitioner’s capacity, teach Tantra to the practitioner.

“Drikung” refers to the name of a place, and “Kagyu” means oral transmission. Tibetan Buddhism can be classified into the four major sects, namely the Yellow Sect, the Red Sect, the Flower Sect, and the White Sect. Drikung Kagyu is one of the White Sects. In the Drikung Order, one who would like to practice any sutra or Dharma text must be taught by a guru, through oral transmission. The teaching method is very strict for this order. Drikung Kagyu has existed for over 830 years; its founder was Lord Jigten Sumgon. Till now, the Drikung Kagyu Lineage has had 37 throne holders. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang, who is the 36th throne holder of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage, lives in Tibet. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, who is the 37th throne holder of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage, as well as Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s guru, propagates Buddhist teaching in India and worldwide. You know “Amitabha” well; there is no need to say anything about him here.

“Indiscriminate” originated from saṃskṛtam, which means that the practitioner conducts Dharma with a non-discriminating mind. Whether poor or rich, gentle or simple, all religion and races may attend this puja. There were lots of indiscriminate pujas in ancient India. The Chinese version originated from Emperor Wu during the Liang Dynasty (464–549). In modern times, this type of puja is very rare, not to mention a Grand Puja that has more than 20,000 attendees. Transferring Consciousnesses refers to helping sentient beings be liberated from the suffering of Samsara. Actually it is not only the deceased who need to be liberated, but also people who are alive. Don’t think that you will die after being liberated. Most of life is suffering; why is this so? It is because people always pursue happiness and reject suffering. This is the cause of suffering. However, the nature of life is impermanent. Real bliss does not mean to make your family feel happy and peaceful, or your business run smoothly. Instead, it is being able to liberate yourself from the Samsara of vexation and suffering.

Today’s Dharma is a terma, which was hidden by Padmasambhava before he left Tibet. He hid the Dharma texts in caves, in the sea, and in space, and he gave them to Dakinis to be kept. Afterward, they were discovered by practitioners of a later age. Normally this terma, which is personally transmitted by Yidam, is extraordinarily powerful. A general practitioner cannot practice the terma. The practitioner must have at least attained the level of Rinpoche, have a pure mind, not seek after wealth or fame, and be devoted to sentient beings. Then, it can be beneficial for the attendees.  “Rinpoche” is a term used in Tibetan; it means “precious one,” and “precious treasure in the world”.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche persuaded people to no longer eat meat after this puja. Buddha Sakyamuni often persuaded people to not eat meat; this was recorded in the sutras. He also enlightened that one who eats meat will run out of the seed of compassion. Compassion is the foundation of Buddhism. If there is no seed of compassion at all, it is difficult to learn Buddhism. Some people may think that they don’t want to learn Buddhism, or that learning Buddhism is not relevant to them. These people don’t believe in cause and effect. They believe that if they don’t learn Buddhism in this life, they will always have another life in which to learn. The Amitabha Sutra mentions that people who are able to be reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha not only must have aspirations, but they also must be virtuous men or women who possess the merits, causes, and conditions. A virtuous person is one who practices the Ten Meritorious Acts. If one is unable to fulfill the first virtuous deed, which is to not kill, how could he be reborn in the Pure Land? You have always thought that you will get nutrition if you eat meat. Just imagine that when you eat meat, your cells absorb the so-called nutrition from the meat. This means that when you eat beef, your cells will gradually turn into cow cells. Your cells will gradually turn into pig cells when you eat pork, and your cells will gradually turn into chicken cells when you eat chicken. As a result, wouldn’t you have the characteristics of an animal? In the past, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche loved eating seafood, and only ate seafood that was alive and expensive. However, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had lots of problems due to that. Now, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been a vegetarian for around twenty years and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s health is better than before.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche compassionately reminded the attendees not to burn paper money because it will pollute the environment. Some people think that the ghost door will open during the month of July in the Lunar Calendar. They memorize ancestors on the Festival of the Hungry Ghost, and burn paper money to liberate their ancestors, hoping to prevent ghosts from disturbing them, improve their business, and bring their family into harmony. Can it really be so easy to have such protection? If burning paper money can liberate ghosts, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche does not need to spend four hours and work so hard performing the ritual. Some people may think, “I used to burn paper money before. Now that I don’t burn it, will I run into any problem?” “Nothing will happen!” Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche said with certainty. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has not burnt paper money for many years. On the contrary, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is getting better. Looking through the Great Treasury of Scriptures, which is the sum of the sutras, the phrase “opening the ghost door” cannot be found. The saying “The ghost door is opened.” is wrong. If a door is opened for ghosts for one month, do you think that the ghosts will be willing to go back? There is no so-called “ghost month.” Ghosts exist all the time. Actually, the saying about “ghost month” and burning paper money is merely a folk belief, which makes some businesses to prosper.

You attended this Grand Puja because your friend apparently invited you or because you read the book written by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Actually, you came here because your ancestors and your karma creditors brought you here, there was a karmic connection from your previous lifetime, and you recited the name of Amitabha Buddha before. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche presides over the Grand Puja, which has never needed public advertisement. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s disciples have asked many times whether or not they should arrange the media to come and conduct an interview. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche always rejects their request because Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is afraid of acquiring any fame. Fame will lead to depletion in merits, and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche benefits sentient beings with his merits. It does not matter to have the media report or not. The important thing is that you can attend this puja. Because you gather here today, this puja can benefit sentient beings.

Attendees who come to the puja today must have a pure mind, rather than seeking after their own benefit. The motive for attending the puja is extremely important. As the great vow of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is for the liberation of all sentient beings, if all attendees have the mind of benefiting sentient beings, they—more than 20,000 people—can all share the merits. In the Age of Degenerate Dharma, our merits are shallow. To accumulate merits, one ought to practice almsgiving and make offerings. If you attend the puja for your own sake, you will gain the virtues of human and deva that can only be consumed in your future life and will be soon exhausted, like a drop of water falling on the ground and drying up in a very short time. On the contrary, if your mind is the same as that of the Buddhas and the lineage gurus, not seeking your own benefit but rather seeking the benefit of sentient beings in Taiwan, the whole world, and the universe, the power of 20,000 people harboring the same mind will be inconceivable, and will even be praised by the Buddhas and Boddhisattvas! Thereafter, the merit of your attendance is just like a drop of water merging into the Merit Sea of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, without distinction. Then the forcewill exist forever. Only when Taiwan is in peace can we live in peace.

Originally in Tibet, it would take one day to conduct the Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, however, is a lay practitioner who knows your habit as lay person. You keep late hours on Sunday, thinking about where to eat after you wake up. In the afternoon, you go out to shop and come home late. You always enjoy your family day in this way. Today you have a different day. In order to attend the puja, you wake early, sit here for four to five hours, and you can’t smoke. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened those present that a smoker will definitely fall into hell. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche asked the attendees if they wanted to know the reason why, and all the attendees said, “Yes!” Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, in a humorous way, said, “It seems that many of you smoke!” “In Tantra, human beings and all sentient beings of the Six Realms have a central channel in their body where their consciousness and karma is. Smoking can cause one’s central channel to be blocked. Thereafter, when a smoker breathes his or her last breath, the chi cannot go upwards but downwards. If one’s consciousness goes upwards, it will lead him or her to the Three Virtues Realms, namely the Heaven Realm, Asura Realm, and Human Realm, or to the Pure Land. If one’s consciousness goes downwards, it will lead him or her to the Three Evils Realms, namely the Hell Realm, Hungry Ghost Realm, and Animal Realm. Medical science also proves that a smoker’s heart does not function well, and that smoking also affects one’s lungs. Everyone is afraid of death and does not want to die, but unfortunately, people do things that lead them to suffer and die. People who eat or harm sentient beings will have many diseases, which may not be able to be cured. Many people, prior to death, have many injections, undergo stomach operations, and are sent to the intensive care unit, and so forth. This is the same as the pain and suffering that beings in the Hell Realm endure, as depicted in the Buddhist Sutra. Hence, prior to death, the realm in which one will be reborn can be detected. People who like smoking in this life gave toxic food to others to eat in past lives, and harmed their respiratory system. Don’t make any excuses, saying that you are affected by the environment and have no other option. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s father also was a heavy smoker who smoked at least two packs of cigarettes everyday. Although Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche ate meat in the past, but never smoked. This could be a habitual pattern brought from previous lives.

People who are reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha must be virtuous men and women. Being virtuous means practicing the Ten Meritorious Acts.  The first of the Ten Meritorious Acts is to not kill. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, before starting to cultivate Buddhism, was fond of seafood and did not eat seafood that was cheap or not fresh. But the principle of cause and effect never fails. For years, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has helped people—and also seen them in the hospital or Buddhist center—who ate meat and were tortured by many kinds of medical treatments prior to their death. Receiving injections and having their stomach cut open is the suffering of hell that is depicted in the Buddhist Sutras. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche became a vegetarian one year before he took refuge. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have enlightened that eating meat extinguishes the seed of compassion. A tantric practitioner should abstain from eating meat. Do not say that as long as the Buddha is in your mind that it is ok to eat meat and drink alcohol, unless you can eat a fish and spit it out again alive. And don’t say that you eat them so that they can be liberated early.

Your ancestors and parents of accumulated lives, as well as the beings to whom you owe gratitude or a debt, have waited a long time to have the opportunity to attend the puja today. Later, during the process of conducting Dharma, you ought to concentrate rather than be distracted or chat. Every single thing you do in a puja will lead to its effect. You should not fall asleep during the puja. The cause and effect for people who fall asleep is to be reborn as an animal, such as a cat or dog, in next life. So don’t doze off. If you find people, except for babies, sitting beside you nodding off, just shake them a little. In fact, it is strange; children are not like adults, who have so many wandering thoughts. They can absorb the enlightenment that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche bestows. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche will conduct the Dharma in a faster speed to let you have the afternoon to spend with your family, under one condition, that is, to abstain from eating meat. You need not to wonder whether the puja today has any effect on you or not. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang has confirmed the achievement Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has attained, not you. It is enough for you to know that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has presided over the Grand Puja for seven years without seeking for fame or wealth.

Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche started to conduct the auspicious Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness, and bestowed an introduction of the rituals. First is to seek refuge under the Yidam, under a guru who transmits Dharma, and even under ordained people. Then, the importance of arousing Boddhicitta to benefit all suffering sentient beings is explained. The motivation to attend the puja is extremely important. If you merely think about what you will gain from the puja, such as your family member recovering from an illness, a successful career, or making money, the effect you get from the puja is limited. However, if you arouse the thought of hoping that all sentient beings obtain benefits and liberation from suffering, this kind of mind is the same as that of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and your merits will merge with the Merit Sea of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Then, the ritual about dispelling mara was conducted. As the Grand Puja can benefit a myriad of sentient beings, there are ghosts and maras with jealousy who will try to come and interfere. Some people who practice a non-Buddhist path and do not believe in Buddhism will also fall into the Mara Realm. In order to avoid interferences during the process of conducting Dharma, the practitioner compassionately dispels mara in the beginning. These maras will leave after they receive the offering. If they are not willing to leave, the practitioner will use a vajra to break the mara’s head into one hundred pieces. Here, the auspiciousness of Exoteric Buddhism can be seen, as there are many different kinds of Dharma methods to help sentient beings. Then, the ritual of making offerings was performed to implore Buddha Amitabha to bless the puja. Next, Buddha Amitabha and the merits of the Buddha were praised. This was followed by recitation introducing all the auspiciousness of the Pure Land, and depicting the sublime Dharma phenomena of the Trinity of the Western Paradise–the Buddha Amitabha, Bodhisattva Mahastamaprapta, and Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. The Pure Land is splendid, and cannot be compared to anything in the world. In the Pure Land, whatever you want to eat automatically appears from the ground. After you finish eating, the dishes automatically disappear into the ground; you don’t need to wash them. Women who don’t like to wash the dishes should specially make a vow to be reborn in the Pure Land.

His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led those present in reciting the heart mantra of Buddha Amitabha. All of the attendees recited the mantra attentively. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche continued to give enlightenment: Just now Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led you in reciting the heart mantra of Buddha Amitabha one thousand times. Today the number of participants reached more than twenty thousand people. If everyone recited the mantra one thousand times, the total number of times would reach twenty million. It is not possible for you to do it by yourself at home. Besides, if you hold prayer beads in one hand and a counter in the other when you recite the Buddha’s names or mantras, it will not take effect. If you attentively recited just now, having few thoughts or doubts, then you can share the merits of twenty million mantra recitations. In Tibetan Buddhism when practicing Tantra, the practitioner should recite a mantra, such as the heart mantra of Buddha Amitabha, at least one million times! It is not possible for you to reach the goal by doing it at home everyday. Therefore, don’t think you can practice Tantra merely by reciting according to the Dharma text. Tantra is divided into Kriya, Charya, Yoga, and Anuttara Yoga. It is not just mantra recitation. The practitioner must cultivate the stages of development and completion, including the process of insight and contemplation, and perform retreats to attain achievements.

Did you realize that the hand drum played by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche today is somewhat different? It is made of crystal. In Drikung Kagyu, the Dharma text of Mahamudra depicts that the human heart is as pure as crystal. But the pure nature is covered by greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance and doubt. Crystal represents the originally pure heart of sentient beings. The pure heart is covered by greed, anger, and ignorance, like a dark cloud that blocks the sun. The drum represents impermanence. The sound of the drum can clear away our greed, anger, and ignorance, and recover our pure nature. It is like a dark cloud, which blocks the sun and then disappears.

Following this was the ritual of offering a mandala. Khenpo Namdol led the ordained disciples and the five mandala offering representatives, who were selected by lottery when they entered the venue, to offer a mandala to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche represented the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to receive everyone’s offering, and thereby helped everyone accumulate virtues. Then the ritual of the tea offering was performed. Because the weather in Tibet is cold, so in the middle of the puja, due to consideration that the guru who conducts the puja will not have enough stamina, therefore, butter tea and rice are offered to supplement his stamina. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche humorously said that you people under the platform have nothing to eat now, but if you work hard to learn Buddhism and become a guru who conducts the Dharma, you will then be able to eat. Following this, the ritual of the feast offering was performed. The offering food items, which had been offered to the Buddhas at the mandala, were handed out to all attendees respectively. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that it is a very rare opportunity to enjoy food with the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in a Tibetan Buddhist puja. Everyone should just eat a piece of candy now, but do not keep eating because you are hungry. It will benefit your family members that you take home the offering food and share with them. Later, everyone can give some of the your offering items, which will be collected by the volunteers, and offer to beings who did not have the causal conditions to attend the puja.

Then the most important ritual of liberation was performed. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche reminded participants to hurry back to their seats if they were on their way to the restroom. Your ancestors and karmic creditors have been waiting for long time. If you have to go to the restroom, your ancestors will help you wait. So many people have to go to the restroom; it means that the health of the people of Taipei is not so good and also means that doctors’ business will become better and better in the future. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is 64 years old now, and still can sit on the Dharma throne from eight o’clock until noon. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche does not have hypertension or diabetes and does not even need to get up to use the restroom during the night. This means that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s health is good. Why? It is because Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is a vegetarian and has practiced Buddhism.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the CD on the Dharma desk contains the list of names you registered for liberation. Through meditation and visualization, the practitioner gathered the beings on the list here to be liberated. Then the ordained leading disciples held the offering lamps to brighten the road to liberation of Samsara for sentient beings while Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche performed the Dharma. Then the representative attendees bowed three times to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, on behalf of the beings who were there to be liberated, to repent, and to help the beings to accumulate virtues so that beings can be relieved from the suffering of the Evil Realms. Because everyone has done incorrect things in the past, so we need to arouse the repentant heart. Excepting for His Holiness Drikung Kagyu Kyabgon Chetsang, who was certified as a Kyabgon right after birth and has done nothing incorrect, we , as ordinary people, always do wrong things out of our desires. So we need to repent. A section of this ritual is for the deceased who had obstacles, such as having severe diseases before they died, or karmic hindrances after death. This helps them to eliminate their hindrance. During the ritual, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche uses sand and recites mantras to eliminate beings’ obstacles of earth, wind, water and fire. Black sesame is used to eliminate beings’ karmic hindrance. Then they can be smoothly reborn to the Pure Land without being affected by their karma. From this, you can see that liberation of sentient beings is not such an easy thing. Before it can occur, their evil karma needs to be cleansed first.

Part of the ritual performed here mentions that if you have absolute faith in the guru, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the Three Jewels, you can avoid death at the wrong time and you may enhance your career, virtues and merits. However, the reason for prolonging your life is not for you to see your children getting married, your husband being promoted, or your mortgage being paid off, instead, is for you to learn Buddhism. It will be very serious if you do not learn Buddhism after you are helped to prolong your life.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche then led everyone in reciting the sutra text to plead to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to liberate beings from the suffering of Samsara. During the recitation of the prayer, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche compassionately sobbed and could hardly speak upon seeing beings suffering in the Samsara.

During the most critical moment, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, with extremely profound meditation and vast merits, liberated all beings who the attendees wanted to liberate. Everyone was moved and grateful.

The Dharma of Liberation was conducted perfectly. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that today Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has helped liberate the deceased according to everyone’s wish. You should not think because your karmic debts accumulated in the past were washed away now, and everything will be fine, then, you go and eat fish and meat after you leave the puja. Today there is someone helping you without asking for any returns. You have also received great grace from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, therefore you should realize it and return the grace. You should be grateful to your deceased family members. The reason why you attend today’s puja is because of your wish to liberate them. Furthermore, the puja also helps you develop a good karmic connection for learning Buddhism. Even if you do not learn Buddhism in this life, you will also have the causes and conditions to learn Buddhism in future lives. You should extend the good karmic connection and learn Buddhism well. Only then will you have true gratitude.

After that, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, regardless of the physical exhaustion of conducting Dharma rituals for more than four hours, stepped down from the Dharma throne. The electronic car took him to circle the whole puja venue. He sprinkled and bestowed blessings upon the 22,000 believers with nectar water. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also reminded everyone not to follow and run after the car because Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s car would circle each block so that everyone could receive blessings. Running after the car is not only dangerous, but the blessings also cannot be obtained. While everyone recited the mantra of Buddha Amitabha, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche held a bunch of auspicious grass, continuously soaked it with nectar water, and strived to sprinkle all attendees. The water-saturated bunch of grass was very heavy. When striving to sprinkle, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s body obviously shook—apparently it was a very demanding and exhausting work. But Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche kept smiling and recited mantras to bestow blessings upon everyone. Despite of physical fatigue, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche wants to make sentient beings joyful. The attendees were very moved and applauded again and again to thank Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for unselfishly giving.

After more than a half an hour of sprinkling attendees in the whole venue, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche exhaustedly ascended the mandala again, and compassionately acknowledged that everyone has exerted so much effort to be here until now. While still sprinkling just now, many people hurried to leave. At this time, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche reminded everyone again not to eat meat anymore! Why do so many people accidentally die in this world? It is due to killing beings. The Avatamsaka Sutra states that people should appreciate grace. If people do not appreciate grace, they will fall into the Evil Realms in the future. As a practitioner, my whole life is devoted to help others. Everyone should appreciate the grace that the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and guru bestow on you through performing Dharma, and you should learn Buddhism soon. You do not have to follow Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to learn Buddhism. The Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center is overcrowded already. There are so many Buddhist centers in Taiwan and it is fine that you follow a virtuous guru who acts according to the Dharma and learn Buddhism. Do not think that learning Buddhism will affect your business, family, or love life. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is also a lay practitioner. Definitely, Buddhism will not interfere with your daily life.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche stepped down the mandala after greeting the other Rinpoche, Khenpo, Geshe and ordained people. Preceded by prayer flags, an incense burner, and musical instruments, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche departed the venue under a precious parasol. All attendees constantly applauded to thank Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

The puja was perfectly completed at 1:30 PM. Afterwards, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche went to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in the afternoon to personally lead and conduct the ritual of Dharma Protector Achi, and to thank the Dharma protectors for their support and protection so that the Grand Puja was so auspicious and perfect. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also held a simple but solemn refuge ceremony for two believers who specially came to Taiwan to participate in the puja from overseas. The disciples who had just taken refuge were so moved that they shed tears. Everyone in the center also felt great joy for them. In conclusion, all disciples were very inspired by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s immense compassion for liberating sentient beings in accordance with their causal conditions.
