1317:The Financial Report of the Foundation
Prostrations to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Dharma Protector Achi, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Greetings, Dharma brothers and fellow believers. I am the finance staff, Shi Zheng Yi. I am grateful to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for bestowing me the opportunity and allowing me to report to you here the trace about Rinpoche donating to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and the status of the closure of the account for constructing the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
On Sunday of the week before last, Rinpoche announced that the donations for constructing the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would no longer be accepted and that the account for constructing the Monastery would be closed. As for the 6 million still lacking in the funds required for the long-term maintenance of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, it will be provided by Rinpoche.
And Rinpoche has done exactly as he said; in the past few days, Rinpoche has already donated 4.81 million to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
The closure procedures of the original account for donations toward the construction of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche were completed on February 11. However, between February 3 and the completion of the closure procedures on February 11, the account still received 64 remittances, totally amounting to 75,118 NT dollars. Now, this sum is being held temporarily by the Accounting Department. Please come forward to claim it. Any funds that remain unclaimed after one month will be donated to charitable organizations and will not be retained by the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
From 2016, when the plan for the construction of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche began, up until now, ten long years have passed in the construction of the Monastery. Yet we still have not reached the goal of having sufficient funds to pay for construction projects of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and ensure long-term maintenance of the Monastery, falling short by 6 million. This shortfall of 6 million is a substantial sum for anyone, and now this heavy responsibility presses solely on Rinpoche.
The daily management, upkeep, and maintenance of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche involve substantial ongoing expenses. It is necessary to cover water and electricity bills, the most basic staff salaries, security fees, cleaning supplies, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and various routine maintenance and upkeep costs to sustain the functioning of the Monastery.
We see the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche as solemn and pure, and we see every area clean and tidy; however, we cannot see the significant money spent behind the scenes on various manpower and resources.
For example, the roads in the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche are extremely clean, but that cleanliness requires staff to sweep, cleaning equipment such as leaf blowers, and fuel for the equipment. The Monastery’s restrooms are very clean, but the water and electricity consumption when we use them, as well as the toilet paper, all cost money. Besides, cleaning staff and various cleaning supplies are needed, liners are needed in trash bins, and garbage disposal requires payment to the township office. All these unseen expenses are what allow us to use clean restrooms. The Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has elevators, but simply having electricity does not make them functional. Regular maintenance and safety inspections are necessary so that the elevators can be used safely.
Yet, as time passes, all kinds of equipment will inevitably age and need to be replaced; all of these need money.
Since now, donations for the construction of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche can no longer be made, but Rinpoche still compassionately (maitri and karuna) bestows everyone the opportunity to donate to the Monastery for its daily expenses while visiting the Monastery.
The various incomparably wondrous and precious opportunities that Rinpoche grants to disciples are not always available, just as we now no longer have the chance to support the construction of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. All of you, please cherish every opportunity to visit the Monastery, cherish every opportunity to support its daily expenses, and value every chance, the most precious one, to make offerings to the guru.
The above is the finance staff’s report. Lastly, I pray for His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s good health and longevity; the Dharma wheel turns unceasingly; his Dharma lineage spreads eternally; all of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Monastery of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is perfect and smooth, benefiting sentient beings. I thank all Dharma brothers and fellow believers for listening patiently. Thank you all.
