Inauguration of Songtsen Library India, 2003
On March 5,2003, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche completed his 5th retreat in Jangchubling. 172 disciples arrived in India to salute Rinpoche’s perfection of the retreat.
On March 6, the inauguration ceremony of the Songtsen Library was held, and blessed by H.H. Dalai Lama and H.H. Sakya Trizin in person.
On March 7, H.H. Dalai Lama himself presided over the Avalokiteshvara empowerment puja.
The fortunate 172 disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center were able to join this grand event, whose video recording has been published by the A/V Production Department of Glorious Jewel Group under the title “Heart Propagation” available on DVD.
A Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara, made of precious sandalwood, is consecrated on the 3rd floor of the library.

At the monastery, in the face of all the monks, H.H. Chetsang bestowed upon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche a unique thangka brought back from Nepal.
During the Inauguration Ceremony of the Songtsen Library held in March, 2003, H.H. Chetsang praised Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for being the most important disciple of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and his root disciple, right in front of H.H. Dalai Lama, H.H. Sakya Trizin and the international correspondents.

H.H. Chetsang gave each disciple of the Glorious Jewel Center an inaugurated statue of Lord Jigten Sumgon with relics.

Most Venerable Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche congratulated Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche upon his perfection of a retreat. He called Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche a great lama, while bringing his thumb up.
Upon completion of his 5th retreat, Rinpoche prostrated before H.H. Chetsang and demonstrated a great example of utmost and selfless offering to one’s lama.
Songtsen Library, Dehra Dun, India. H.H. Chetsang established the library in order to preserve Tibetan culture, historical scriptures and treasures of Buddhism from the times of Buddha, so period pieces may remain in the world.
Upon completion of the retreat, Rinpoche prostrated himself before H.H. and said: " I’d like to offer all the merits and virtues earned through my practice in the retreat to His Holiness."
