Chod Puja in Jalandhar, India 2008
On November 8, 2008, the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was invited as the chief guest of the 2008 Annual Function of the famous M.G.N. Public School, Kapurthala in the the Punjab province of the northern India, and delivered a speech. On November 9, 2008, the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was also invited to conduct the first and auspicious Chod puja in Jalandhar, the famous major city in the Sikh region of the Punjab province of the northern India. This was the first Buddhist puja (including Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism) that was held in the major Sikh region by the attending of so many local Indian people, especially the Sikhs, who also participated in the entire puja and reverently listened to Rinpoche’s teachings.
In the nightfall of November 8, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche arrived the famous M.G.N. Public School, Kapurthala. Upon arriving the school, Rinpoche was ceremoniously received by the traditional percussion band and escort.
Rinpoche was greeted by the Chairman and the Honorary Secretary of MGN Educational Trust and the school principle.
H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led 4 lamas to make prayers in front of the photo of the Buddha.
This was the second time that H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was invited as the chief guest by the famous M.G.N. Public School, Kapurthala since 2006.

Rinpoche delivered a speech, which all attendees reverently listened to, in elegant and noble British accent.
Rinpoche, to pray for all people present, particularly led 4 lamas, 2 nuns, and 50 disciples to recite the "Aspiration Prayer for Rebirth in Pure Land" and the scene was very touching.

The chairman of the MGN Educational Trust especially presented Rinpoche a miniature model of the Sikh Golden Temple, which is regarded as a holy place for the Sikh, and thus the gift was particularly of meaningful.

Rinpoche was invited to sign the guest book of the famous M.G.N. Public School, Kapurthala, and inscribe his blessing.

H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was greeted to the venue, preceded by the procession of the sutra banners, the precious curtain, the incense burner, the dharma musical instruments, nuns, lamas and precious parasol and walk path was sprinkled with flowers on it.

The local Indian believers together with disciples of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center greeted Rinpoche to the Dharma Throne. The walk path was covered with the white cloth that was printed with the 8 auspicious symbols and sprinkled with flowers to give the supreme greetings to H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
Rinpoche lighted butter lamps as offerings to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas on the mandala of the venue of the Chod Puja.

The Chod puja was attended by more than 250 local Indians believers with the majority of Sikh believers.
All the Indian believers on the scene participated in the entire puja and reverently listened to Rinpoche’s teachings.
H.H. Chetsang Rinpoche especially sent 4 lamas with a precious parasol, a Dharma throne, a Dharma tablecloth, a cloth for the back of the throne, Dharma musical instruments, and a small table from Ladakh to help assist the puja. In particular, the patterns and colors of the cloth of the back of Rinpoche's Dharma throne and the Dharma tablecloth are as the same as those of His Holiness's in the venue.
Rinpoche bestowed a hada upon Mr. J.P. Singh, the Vice President of the MGN Educational Trust, for all of his arrangement on the puja.
The Hony. Secretary of the MGN Educational Trust not only attended the Chod puja but also, on behalf of the Trust, made offerings to Rinpoche.
Rinpoche personally blessed the candies and biscuits which had been offered to Buddhas on the mandala in the venue of Chod puja.
