Amitabha’s Puja for Transferring Consciousness, 2008
In order to let the public understand the compassion of Buddhism, in the morning of Aug.31, the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, a renowned master of the Drikung Kagyu of Tibetan Buddhism, conducted “The Great Indiscriminated Amitabha’s Puja for Transferring Consciousness” in Taipei Arena. Upon the completion of puja, Rinpoche contributed his own and all the attendees’ offerings that reached around NT$4,160,000 to the Department of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Interior for social welfare, under the witness of a lawyer, an accountant, a bank representative, and an officer from the Ministry of the Interior.
“The Great Indiscriminated Amitabha's Puja for Transferring Consciousness” of 2008 was conducted in Taipei Arena.
There were up to 14,000 attendees, including people who especially came to attend by plane from Japan, U.S., Canada, Holland, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, etc.

The attendees also included 31 khenpos, lamas, and nuns from Drikung Kyagu, Drukpa kargyu, Nyingma, and Gelug lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, and 6 monks and nuns of Exoteric Buddhism. The red carpet was covered with the cloth printed with the 8 auspicious symbols to give the supreme greetings to H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
The delegates greeted His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche in great reverence.
H.E. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was greeted to the venue, preceded by the procession of the 8 auspicious symbols, the sutra banners and the dharma instruments.

Rinpoche prostrated to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the mandala.

Rinpoche lighted butter lamps as offerings to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
On behalf of all attendees, one thousand people that were selected by lot lighted the butter lamps in order.
On behalf of all sentient beings, Namgyal Khenpo offered mandala to Rinpoche.
Those representatives who offered mandalas were also selected by lot when entering the venue.

Rinpoche enlightened about the importance of being a vegetarian and the patience needed to learn and study Buddhism. In the way of humor and wisdom, Rinpoche's enlightenment resonated with the attendees' heart.
Rinpoche attained insight into the sufferings of the sentient beings and perceived that countless sentient beings have not been released. Rinpoche felt so deeply repentant to His Holiness, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas that he wept for several minutes.
All the attendees were solemn and reverent under the theopneusty of Rinpoche during the entire conduction.
Considering the toil of conduction upon the attendees, Rinpoche took the hardships and completed the auspicious dharma with deep and immense mediation in three hours that usually took a whole day in Tibet.
Rinpoche led the attendees to transfer all the merits and virtues of perfect completion of the practice to all sentient beings in the Ten Directions of the Dharma Realm.
The puja was perfectly completed. When Rinpoche was leaving, all of the attendees stood up to continuously applaud and bow to Rinpoche, and shouted loudly "Thank You Rinpoche" to show the gratitude to Rinpoche.
