In November of 2013 His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche will lead 239 disciples from the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center to Rinchenling Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal to participate in the Chakrasamvara Drubchen Puja, to be presided over by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, as well as the Long Life Puja to be held for the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang.

On July 7th, 2013, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche invited His Eminence Nuba Rinpoche, Rasbsang Rinpoche, and five lamas to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Taipei to lead the attendees in a performance of the Guru Yoga and a chanting of the Great Six-Syllable Mantra. During the puja, His Eminence Nuba Rinpoche specially thanked His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for all of the support he had provided to facilitate the perfect completion of the consecration ceremony of Rinchenling Monastery in Nepal. Every year His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche spares no effort to assist Nuba Rinpoche and the monastery by making generous contributions, so Nuba Rinpoche used this opportunity to express gratitude to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche on behalf of Rinchenling Monastery, the monastery of the late His Eminence Drubwang Rinpoche. While still living, Drubwang Rinpoche once gave Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche a big thumbs-up, praising him as a magnificent lama and a rare practitioner of great root capacity. Every time he saw Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, Drubwang Rinpoche would extremely happily bless him for a long time. It was evident that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and Drubwang Rinpoche had a profound affinity with each other. Upon the perfect completion of the puja, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led all the attendees in a dedication of all of their merits to the lineage gurus, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Drubwang Rinpoche, Nuba Rinpoche, and Rasbsang Rinpoche, as well as the lamas and believers who had participated together in the puja and all the sentient beings in the Six Realms. After the puja, Nuba Rinpoche cordially invited Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to participate in this puja over which His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang will preside personally. From this it can be seen how auspicious was the causal origination of this Chakrasamvara Drubchen Puja to be held at Rinchenling Monastery in Nepal.

At the same time, a Long Life Puja will also be held for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. On July 23rd, 2012, on the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s birthday, as a way to repay a debt of gratitude for the teachings the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang had bestowed upon him and praying for great longevity for the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche held a Long Life Puja after obtaining the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s permission. On that day Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led more than a thousand disciples in a 24-hour non-stop chanting of the Amitayus Mantra at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center as an offering to His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. After witnessing the utter respect and sincere offering which Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche—a Han Chinese—showed to his guru the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Sonam Lama, who was also participating in the puja at the time, returned to India and made preparations for a Long Life and Mandala-Offering Puja to be held at Jangchubling Monastery from February 15th to 25th in honor of His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led 204 Glorious Jewel disciples in a Long Life Mandala-Offering to the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, and also made offerings of a precious lapis lazuli bowl filled with pearls, coral, gold, and so on. The causal origination and conclusion of the Long Life Puja at Jangchubling Monastery were both brought to an auspicious and perfect completion. Ever since Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche organized that Long Life Puja for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Drikung Kagyu monasteries and centers have followed suit one after another by holding Long Life Pujas for the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, all hoping and praying that His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang will have good health.

His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang is Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Three-Grace Root Guru. This time Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is leading disciples from the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center on a special trip to Nepal to participate in a puja which will be presided over personally by the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, as well as the Long Life Puja to be held for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. This is a concrete manifestation of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s reverence, gratitude, and intention to make offerings, to do everything within his power to promote the Drikung Kagyu Lineage, and to wholeheartedly serve, protect, and support the Three- Grace Root Guru His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. It is the most sublime example of a Vajrayana disciple surrendering with heart and soul to act according to his guru’s teachings.
