In order to let the public understand the compassion of Buddhism, the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, a renowned master of the Drikung Kagyu of Tibetan Buddhism, conducted “The Great Indiscriminated Amitabha’s Puja for Transferring Consciousness” in Taipei Arena in the morning on Aug.31. There were up to 14,000 attendees, including 31 khenpos, lamas, and nuns from Drikung Kyagu, Drukpa kargyu, Nyingma, and Gelug lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, and 6 monks and nuns of Exoteric Buddhism, as well as people who especially came to attend by plane from Japan, U.S., Canada, Holland, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, etc. Although there were numerous attendees in the arena, they all were solemn and reverent under the theopneusty of Rinpoche for the entire conduction. Considering the toil of conduction upon the attendees, Rinpoche took the hardships and completed the auspicious dharma with deep and immense mediation in three hours that usually took a whole day in Tibet.
the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is a Ngakpa Guru of Han lineage. Completing the dharma practices and realization for life, Rinpoche was officially recognized and ordained by His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, and the name of Rinchen Dorjee also endowed by His Holiness personally. There were no propaganda for each puja, and no charge for the entrance. The attendees’ merits are not evaluated by their fortune and rank. All the attendees would be equally blessed, helped and protected by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
This year, Rinpoche successively conducted the fourth time’s the ten thousand people grand puja. Upon the completion of each puja in the past years, Rinpoche contributed his own and all the attendees’ offerings to the Department of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Interior for social welfare to help the disadvantaged and people in need, under the witness of a lawyer, an accountant, a bank representative, and an officer from the Ministry of the Interior, which also sowed favorable condition with the sentient beings. There was no exception this year that all the offerings of over NT$ 4,160,000 were donated. The total donation amount of the the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has reached to NT$ 18 millions in four years.
Besides, Rinpoche also enlightened about the importance of being a vegetarian and the patience needed to learn and study Buddhism. In the way of humor and wisdom, Rinpoche’s enlightment resonated with the attendees’ heart. When Rinpoche was leaving, all of the attendees stood up to continuously applaud and bow to Rinpoche, and shouted loudly “Thank You Rinpoche” to show the gratitude to Rinpoche for helping their families, ancestors and their karma’s debtors, and the scene was very touching. In the afternoon, Rinpoche led the disciples to conduct the dharma of Achi Chokyi Drolma at the venue to thank for her protection of the puja.
