His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the abbot-guru of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, will preside over the auspicious Avalokiteshvara Empowerment Puja, for the first time, at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Kyoto, Japan.
Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche once said that Avalokiteshvara has particularly profound affinity with sentient beings on earth. The heart mantra of Avalokiteshvara, “the Great Six-Syllable Mantra”, is the essence of all Tantric mantras, and the merit of reciting this great mantra would bring benefits to all sentient beings. Empowerment, which is a special Dharma method used in Tantra, can only be presided over by a practitioner with the fruition of a Rinpoche. Empowerment means the authorization that someone can start practicing the Dharma, and he can attain achievement as a result of cultivation only when he has received empowerment. The Avalokiteshvara Empowerment is a Tantric method transmitted by Buddha Shakyamuni – the essence of 84,000 Dharma methods. Through the Avalokiteshvara Empowerment, we can eliminate diseases, faults and obstacles, allow wealth and reputation to rise, and remove all hindrances in our Buddhist practice.
Since 2008 the inauguration of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Kyoto, Japan, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been presiding over the auspicious Puja at the Center every year on the day of the Daimonji Festival which is the annual memorial ancestor worship day for the area. This year Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche will preside over the Avalokiteshvara Empowerment Puja in Japan for the first time, to help the Japanese people, the attendees of the Puja and sentient beings of the Six Realms accumulate resources for learning Buddhism and blessed rewards, and bring immeasurable benefits to all.
