July 23, 2012 is the birthday of His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang is the Dharma Lord of the Drikung Kagyu Order as well as the Three Realms.
On this special day, the Abbot of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the root disciple of His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, shall lead more than 1,000 disciples in chanting the ” Amitayus Mantra” for 24 hours without interruption as an offering to His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to repay the debt of gratitude to the guru.
It is expected that the “Amitayus Mantra” be chanted in all the Drikung Kagyu Centers in Taiwan on the birthday of His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang as an offering to and prayer for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to live as long as hundreds of kalpas. It is also expected that no one shall take advantage of this special day to conduct pujas that involve money and profit-making so that the best birthday wishes for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang can be delivered respectfully with the purest heart.
We pray for His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to have excellent health, for Buddhism to flourish eternally, for Dharma activities of His Holiness to be perfect and victorious, and for the Drikung flags to fly far and wide.
