Ever since 2005, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been annually presiding over the auspicious Drikung Kagyu Great Indiscriminated Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness in Taiwan. Without need for public advertisement, the compassionate aspiration of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche became well-known simply by word of mouth of the disciples from the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center. All pujas in past 5 years were fully seated and have been attended by more than 54,000 believers, including believers who particularly traveled to Taiwan for the puja from places such as Japan, Hong Kong, Holland, France, India, New Zealand, Australia, the US, Britain, Canada, the Philippines, and Brazil. Additionally, the pujas were also attended by Ngakpas, Geshes, Khenpos, lamas, nuns of the Drikung Kagyu, Drukpa Kagyu, Nyingma, and Gelug lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as monks and nuns of Exoteric Buddhism, who all came to the pujas on their own initiatives.

Admittance to each grand puja is free of charge, and so are the salvation activities and making lamp offering. Under the guidance of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, and without the necessity for outside fundraising, as always, the members of the Glorious Jewel Buddhism Culture Exchange Association pledge over more than 10 million NT dollars to cover the cost of the event. In the past 5 years, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche donated his personal contribution and all the offerings from the attendees of the ceremony to the Ministry of the Interior at completion of each event for charitable and social welfare services or to fund post-disaster relief efforts, making the extensive virtuous connections on behalf of sentient beings. Delegates from the Ministry of the Interior, a lawyer, an accountant, and bank representatives are invited to the puja venue as witnesses. The total amount of donations made by His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche during the previous 5 years was more than 24 million NT dollars.

For this reason, on the occurrence of this festival day during the past 2 years, Most Venerable Rinpoche particularly held the Chod pujas at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Kyoto, Japan, to salvage the sentient beings. As the Great Indiscriminated Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness is scheduled on the day this year, many more sentient beings will be able to receive salvation with the Buddha Dharma!
