On June 13, 2010, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche invited Rinpoche’s root guru, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, to have a tea gathering with Rinpoche’s disciples at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Taipei.

Prior to the time for afternoon tea, two disciples publicly shared with all attendees about how Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had helped their families and friends. A male disciple first shared his experience of how he and his family were helped by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. At the end of 2004, one night he was waked up by a phone call, informing him that his father was injured while exercising, he was in serious condition, and emergent procedures had been undertaken. When the disciple arrived at the hospital, he saw a machine pressed on his father’s chest and was told that the second cardiotonic shot was already injected. His elder relatives advised him to send his father home and to begin preparing for the funeral. During the first two weeks of his father’s passing, he had been crying almost daily. He felt sorrow for his father’s sudden death and worried whether his father was well in another world. He began to perform 7-day rituals at temples, and donate money in his father’s name. Nonetheless, he was still doubtful about the effectiveness of these events and activities. Whether had his father been salvaged? With an introduction of his friend, he knew that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche could help salvage his father. Accompanied by a dharma brother who was unknown to him, at the Glorious Jewel Jewellery Company in Yi-san Road, he went to seek an audience with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and implored the transference of his father’s consciousness. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche inquired his father’s name and the symbolic animal of the year his father was born. Then Rinpoche told him something his father couldn’t let go with, which shocked him tremendously. It was because these things couldn’t be known by people other than family members. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also told him that his father’s consciousness wasn’t yet transferred. He immediately implored the transference of the consciousness. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche promised at once and asked him to put his name on the list of participants for Chod Puja, without accepting any fee. Additionally, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche informed him that he’d have a child the next year.

After attending the Chod puja, he no longer worried whether his father was well in another world. Nor did he intend to know where his father had gone. When the memory of him with his father emerged, he felt no worries or sadness any more. He is grateful to His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

After participating pujas, he brought his wife to seek an audience with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Rinpoche advised his wife on matters of her health and, without their asking, informed her that they would have a child next year. He knew that his family had been eager to welcome a newborn, but he and his wife couldn’t get pregnant after more than ten years. They had already accepted the fact of a childless life. As predicted, they found that his wife was pregnant around February or March in 2005. Prenatal examines were all normal. When they went back to thank Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, Rinpoche bestowed blessings on his wife and gave her a precious nectar pill to take in. One day morning around 4 am when the time was due, his wife didn’t feel much pain as her water broke. Upon arrival at the hospital, the nurse told them that the uterus had dilated about two-finger wide. Around 9:30 am, the doctor was concerned that his wife still didn’t feel pain but her amniotic fluid was already seeping out entirely. If his wife kept feeling nothing, a surgery would be inevitable. It was not until then when his wife began to gradually feel pain. The pain continued till 10:30 am when his wife couldn’t bear with it anymore and hoped to have a shot of epidural anesthesia. The doctor diagnosed that the uterus had fully dilated and she was ready to be directly sent to the delivery room. Within a short while, the healthy baby was born. The pain of child birth lasted only less than two hours. When the disciple brought his wife and child to seek an audience with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, Rinpoche bestowed a blessing to the child for a very long time. Moreover, with the imploration of the disciple and his wife, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche helped name the child.

When his father died, his mother was diagnosed with the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (right foot began to tremble involuntarily). An examination in a larger hospital also definitely confirmed that his mother had the illness. Additionally, the doctors also found that there was a huge bone spur between the third and fourth rooms of his mother’s cervical section, which had compressed two thirds of her nerves. They suggested a surgery and some medicine. After taking the medicines, his mother began to feel dizzy and urinary incontinence had occurred. She wanted to stop the treatment. From then on, his mother’s condition had been deteriorating. In early 2008, because of the persistent pain in the back muscles, his mother couldn’t fall into sleep. The condition of quivering hands and feet became more serious, which caused her not able to walk. She had been in such pain that she told her children she didn’t want to live anymore. He brought his mother and his elder sister to seek an audience with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Rinpoche bestowed the enlightenment that his mother’s illness was resulted from her killing at young age and instructed him to part take in pujas on behalf of his mother. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche told him that his mother’s condition would gradually get better. On their way home in the car, his mother told him that she had helped his grandmother to kill chicken and ducks with her hand holding the animals. With the blessings of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, they’d be able to meet effective doctors of Chinese or Western medicine. Within half a year, the pain of his mother’s back muscles stopped and the condition of quivering hands and feet had improved. Her spirits were turning positive. Her friends and neighbors were surprised with her improvement. Even in 2009, she could begin to travel long distance abroad with his aunts.

The disciple had looked forward to gaining esteem from others. He had succeeded in his academic studies and felt proud of himself. As majoring in social work, he considered that he was good at personal relationship, especially for the relationship within family members. However, the fact was that in real life he felt a lot of pressure from work and from the life getting with his wife. He regarded his wife selfish, as she had spare money to do the investment, yet she kept asking him for more money. In his cultivation of Buddhism, he felt he had to contribute all the time, but he had no ability or sincere aspiration. Instead, he felt pressure from it although he still appeared to be reluctant to provide help. It was not until Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave him a lecture and stopped receiving his offering did the disciple deeply felt Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s compassion on him so as to give him the opportunity to make self-examination. He saw clearly that he just wanted to make use of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to bring him a good day. He also found that he’d never acted in accordance with the Buddhist teachings or corrected himself. He had deceived himself and others, wasting precious lifetime. He’d done nothing but merely pretended to cultivate the Buddha’s teachings, and the truth was that he was just afraid he would be away from his fond dream about future good days after he leaves Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. With this kind of mindset, in the aspect of Buddhism cultivation, rather than introspecting himself, he only desired for praise from Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and Dharma brothers. In his family, he only hoped that his wife would make a public praise of him. As for the difficulties his wife met, he did not really care or willing to provide any assistance. In his office, he only wished that his case work smoothly so that he could be valued by his boss. As for the difficulties in practice, he did not really care or willing to help. All the aforementioned behaviors have been advised by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche not to do; however, he took no serious heed to it.

Due to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s teachings, the disciple stops trying to satisfy his own desires and also loosens the relationship. Contrarily, he furthers to see his case’s sticking point and provides the services. His pressure from work lessens as well. For these, he has immense gratitude to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche for his auspicious teachings and blessings that let him pause and introspect.

Another female disciple went on the stage and shared the story about the impressions her landlord got after attending the “Grand 793rd Anniversary Memorial Puja of Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgon”, personally presided over by His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang at Taipei Arena on June 6th. Her landlord learns and cultivates Buddhism in another famous Buddhist center and this time he attended the grand puja with eight of his classmates. This female disciple asked her landlord for any advices on this puja. He said that as he has attended each annual grand puja held by the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, he noticed that those activities have been arranged and processed better and better. He wondered how a great puja with more than ten thousand attendees could be held in such good order and without any noise, while thinking of the pujas held by other centers he regularly attends, merely several hundred people, but it usually goes to mess even when they have meal. The disciple told her landlord that the grand puja was attained due to Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s instructions and supervision, and it couldn’t be done merely by us. Then the landlord asked: Are there many big contributors of this puja? The disciple said: No. It comes from Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s blessings and disciples’ support. He said: Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is extremely extraordinary. Generally speaking, this activity is organized by him, but Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche just straightly sat beside His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Not a word did Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche speak. Not a stir did Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche create. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche just quietly sat aside. The female disciple told the landlord that this is Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s reverence towards his Guru, and all of us have not learned it. The landlord said: Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is truly reverent towards His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, and it is really not easy.

The landlord told his classmates that there is no charge for lighting lamps in the grand pujas held by the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center. Hearing the news, his classmates all thought it so unbelievable. And they just believed it is true after they attended puja and drew the lot in person to make a butter-lamp offering. In the center they attend, they also hold annual grand puja with around one hundred thousand attendees. However, the lamp offering ritual would depend on the amount you donate. Those who donate in a big amount would have a flower brooch as an identification so as to light the lamp. Those who do not have the flower brooch are not allowed to light the lamp. The landlord felt this kind of arrangement is not appropriate. And he said his classmates and him have never seen a temple or puja, except for the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, do not charge for the lamp offerings. The female disciple told him it is because Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has ever enlightened: In Buddha’s eyes, all sentient beings are equal, without discrimination of base or noble.

Not long after the disciple’s sharing, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, followed by His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and Regent His Eminence Tritsab Rinpoche. Escorted by musical instruments, eight girls presenting offerings, and a precious umbrella, His Holiness Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche stepped toward Mandala and reverently made prostrations toward it. Lightening a butter-lamp to offer Buddhas, then His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang ascended the Dharma Throne. Regent His Eminence Tritsab Rinpoche and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche politely gave precedence to each other, and then they respectively lighted a butter-lamp to offer Buddhas. Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the abbot of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, led Khenpo Namdol, the chairman of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, and the ordained disciples to offer mandala to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang.

Thereafter, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang descended the Dharma Throne and seated himself in the chair of the tea gathering. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and Tritsab Rinpoche respectively sat by His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s two sides. During the simple but sublime tea offering ritual, disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center reverently made offering with butter tea to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, Tritsab Rinpoche, Khenpo and lamas.

Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave an opening address for the attendees. Since everyone had provided financial and physical support for the grand ceremony on June 6th, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang thereby came to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center at a special invitation to have a chat with everyone. On his trip to Taiwan for presiding over the grand ceremony, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang had planned to have a break in Taiwan and take the time to compile some publishing material before setting off to South and North Americas to spread the Buddhist teachings. No other Buddhist activities in Taiwan were planned. Therefore, every attendee should show his or her special appreciation for His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s presence in the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center. Additionally, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also extended a special welcome towards His Eminence Tritsab Rinpoche, who is a very important Rinpoche in the Drikung Kagyu Lineage. Tritsab Rinpoche had been the Regent in the Order during his previous lifetime and is now the abbot of the Jangchubling Monastery and other important monasteries in Nepal. Besides, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche said that this grand ceremony was coordinated by the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center with the special permission of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Moreover, the fact that many lamas had offered ample assistance to the ceremony is especially appreciated. In particular, Khenpo Namdol had exerted immense efforts both mentally and physically to complete the translation of most of the Dharma texts. Today, all the attendees are fortunate to have His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to enjoy tea snacks and have a little chat with them. As it is a very auspicious and rare opportunity, everyone should express gratitude for the grace of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang.

At completion of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s address, the attendees gave an enthusiastic applause to welcome His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Tritsab Rinpoche, Khenpos and lamas. Then, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang delivered his address. Although the news of this grand ceremony had travelled merely by verbal introductions from the disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, the ceremony was attended by over 14,000 people and had not had to spend a great deal of money on advertising like other ceremonies. Such an achievement was really difficult to accomplish and several media reporters had asked about it as well as wondered how such a task could be done. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang knew that it was achieved due to the aspiration and efforts of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center.

Some lamas were amazed that the arrangements for the grand ceremony were very well-coordinated and orderly. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang observed from his Dharma throne during the time when food offerings were distributed and noticed that that the working crew was extremely organized in passing the food offerings, as if they had undergone military trainings. The crew had exerted great efforts to coordinate this ceremony and had made advance plans in utter earnest. As this month happens to be the one in which effects are multiplied by one hundred, the merits and virtues you accumulated through your efforts are extremely vast and would become the provisions for your future Buddhist studies. It is not easy to achieve anything. No matter what matter it is, major or minor, it takes a lot of mental as well as physical efforts to make it work. As a grand ceremony like that can benefit innumerable sentient beings, obstacles would definitely occur during the process. Do not think that you are doing something ordinary because such work can also be considered practice. As the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center had had experiences organizing large ceremonies in the past years, various matters about this grand ceremony were thereby conducted appropriately.

The disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center knew very well that all this had been made possible by the instruction and supervision of the venerable Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. The disciples gave another round of ardent applause, showing appreciation for His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s encouragement.

Several days ago, a young man from another lineage who is currently working on his thesis talked to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. As he had been to many centers of various Buddhist sects, he realized that the Drikung Kagyu Lineage is truly flourishing in Taiwan with its numerous centers around Taiwan and the capability of hosting a grand ceremony of 14,000 attendees. Therefore, he extended his congratulation to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. According to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, the fact that the Drikung Kagyu Lineage can enjoy prosperity in Taiwan is closely associated with the continuous efforts of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche as well as everyone’s aspiration.

The compassionate His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang bestowed a rare opportunity upon the attendees of today’s tea gathering to raise their questions and gave thorough answers to each question being asked.

First of all, a male disciple implored His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to enlighten the attendees about ways to employ the Buddhist teachings in life. In response to this extensive question, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang said that one should begin by cultivating his mercy and compassion. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang took a doctor in Ladakh as an example. With great scholarship, the doctor knew well about the various symptoms, prescriptions, and medical doctrines. However, the patients had poor performance status under his treatment and he did not have many patients. The reason lay in that he had carried out his treatments in a business-like manner. On the other hand, there was another doctor. Although the latter doctor was not as knowledgeable as the former one, he sincerely wished that his parents would recover in his practice. Therefore, he had a lot of patients and they all healed quickly with his prescribed medication.

In addition, while raising your pet, for example, you should not simply feed it. Instead, you should think that it would starve to death without food and therefore food has to be given to the pet. Such a conduct is a way to cultivate your mercy and compassion as well. When you water your plants, you should also think that they would die of dehydration without water. Watering with the merciful and compassionate heartis also a Buddhist practice.

Then, a female disciple implored His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang for advice. Due to the mistakes that disciples had made, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche stepped down from the Dharma throne in anger and refused to take the offerings from the disciples. It had been a month and a half since Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche last ascended the throne to bestow the Buddhist teachings. The disciples knew that they had been wrong and felt great remorse and helplessness. In this world, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche only listens to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. As Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is the guru of the disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Richen Dorjee Rinpoche is like a father to the disciples and His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang is like a grandfather to the disciples. Therefore, she pleaded with the grandfather-like His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to tell the disciples what to do to bring their guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche back to the Dharma throne to bestow the Buddhist teachings.

At this time, all of the disciples of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center knelt and prayed to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang for commiserating and enlightening the disciples. After listening to what the female disciple said, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang replied, “If you did things wrong, it is ok for you to just repent.” The female disciple thanked His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s enlightenment and implored again on behalf of all disciples that all of the disciples know they are wrong. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang then said that if this is the case, it would be fine as long as the guru can accept the repentance. After hearing this, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche mercifully asked who would like to repent. All of the disciples said that they would like to repent. When seeing Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche accepted the disciples’ repentances, all of the disciples expressed their appreciations in unison.

This female disciple implored His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang again for asking Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to accept the disciples’ offerings, as for almost two months Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had not received disciples’ offering. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang compassionately agreed and immediately said to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche that it should be ok to receive the disciples’ offerings. Then Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche concurred right away. The female disciple beseeched His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang the third time for asking Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to ascend the Dharma Throne to teach Buddha Dhrama again. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang then helped the disciples of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center to ask Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche the question. Because of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s help, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche eventually agreed to ascend the Dharma Throne to teach Buddha Dharma again. “Thank His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang!” “Thank Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche!” All of the disciples of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center felt both ashamed and appreciated, and continuously expressed their appreciations to the compassions of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

After Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche instructed the disciples to sit down, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang continued to receive questions from the attendees. A nun disciple prayed to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to enlighten about the equal mind and the usual mind. Then His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang enlightened us that the equal mind is the “equanimity” in the “four immeasurables”. The guru of Lord Jigten Sumgon had once said that when practicing compassion, one should think about the feelings of seeing a baby; when practicing mercy, one should think about the feelings of seeing those who are in suffering; when practicing joy, one should think about the feelings of seeing relatives whom one has not seen for a long time; when practicing equanimity, one should think about the states of no likes and dislikes right before one falls asleep. As for the usual mind of Mahamudra, the text of Mahamudra has stated that the usual mind is not an artificial mind. It is not the usual mind if you want to attain the state of void of nature; it is not the usual mind if you ask to attain some level of state. Do not think about the past, the future, and the present. The usual mind is not to be achieved intentionally; it is achieved naturally from Bodhicitta. No matter what you do is major or minor, just do your best.

Then, a female disciple asked that if our guru Rinpoche and Buddhist center were being jointly excluded and slandered by other centers and rinpoches of our lineage, what should the disciples do to protect our guru, Buddhist center, and the Drikung Kagyu lineage? His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang mercifully enlightened us that the modern society is much more complex and many people have their own set of ideas; everyone is a person of reincarnations, so everyone will bring different karma with him. There is a Tibetan saying that the human saliva is poison while the hands are gold. Our mouth would say many unpleasant words, but our hands could create many things in this world. Things like these are not important and can be ignored; we should just do well on our own things. There is a Tibetan saying that one should not touch the stool. It means that you should ignore such kind of trivial things; your ability of doing important things will be affected if you have involved too many of these trivial things.

Next, a female believer prayed to His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s enlightenment. Before, she had met a person who had kicked a soccer ball out of the correct path; when the ball had approached her standing position, she tried to kick the ball back with her foot; however, the ball was kicked away from the person; as a result, the person got angry with her and gave her a glare. In addition, a few days ago, for saving someone, a person had been hit by a train and died. Because of these things, she asked His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang that whether a person should not care so much of other people’s businesses? His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang compassionately enlightened her that the most important is the motivation. We should not only pay attention to the faults of others. We just need to focus on ourselves faults. When doing anything, we should have compassion and mercy as our motivation. If surrounding people need help, we should just try our best to help them and do not demand them for anything.

Another male disciple then asked a question. He mentioned that he is 26 years old. It is fair to say that most people are playful in this age. However, he has decided to abandon the playful life and to take refuge and to practice Buddha dharma. When inviting his friends to attend the grand puja on June 6 this time, his friends were very puzzled for his long-term vegetarian diet and weekly puja attendance; his friends thought that with such a young age he should enjoy the youthful pleasures. So he asked His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang that since His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang had practice Buddha dharma since childhood, when His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang was young, whether had His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang had the same harassment and had the very lonely feeling on the path of practicing Buddha dharma?

His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang enlightened the male disciple that his choice was correct! His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang has seen many young people who currently live in sufferings and died of suicide in great numbers. Often times they committed suicide when their lovers left them. Life is impermanent. Once a young cancer patient told His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang that he could not accept the fact that he had gotten cancer in such a young age and his life only had two months left; so he felt extremely painful. This was because he did not believe in impermanence, thinking he was still young, nor he had the cause and condition to practice Buddha dharma. Hence, practicing Buddha dharma is correct for you and, in fact, let you avoid many sufferings among the young people of this world. You will never take things too hard and commit suicide. Hearing the pithy answer, every attendees applauded and praised His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s great wisdom.

Then, a female believer raised two questions. First, there are many mosquitoes and insects in the summer. Although she knew that she should not harm any life, when seeing the mosquito bites full of her legs, she could not help but kill the mosquitoes. What should she do when encountering such situation? Second, in addition to reciting Buddhist sutras and holding mantras, when practicing visualization, how can she concentrate without wild thoughts? What Buddha should she visualize? How can she reduce the barriers when practicing Buddha dharma?

His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang said that one should try to make one’s home clean and may use some non-toxic mosquito repellent to avoid killing the mosquitoes. Regarding the visualization stage during one’s practicing, one may start with short period of time, 1 minute for instance, then extend it to 5 minutes, and further try to achieve longer period of contemplation. Although there are different images of Buddha statues, any one of the statues can be used in the visualization. If one could not have a clear image of the visualization target, one may look at the picture for 5 or 10 minutes for instance to have clearer vision of the image.

Another believer raised a question that as a Buddhist beginner, is there any practice that she should take in addition to reciting sutras and mantras? His Holiness gave his instructions that repentance is the first practice to overcome one’s own karmic obstacles and then practicing the Vajrasattva will further reduce the hindrance against the practicing and also will be able to protect one’s guru. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche said that this believer had not taken refuge and not received the transmission of the Dharma. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang turned his face to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and asked if the practice ritual of Vajrasattva could be granted to disciples? Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche immediately accepted the request. All the disciples felt immense gratefulness.

His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang gave more instructions that all the disciples have to become united, help each other, do good deeds as most as possible, and do cultivate qualities of mercifulness and compassion. The tea gathering proceeds. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and Tritsab Rinpoche were served with tea, fruits and cookies. The attendees also took beverage and food as well. In this moment, due to the devotion and great efforts paid by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, disciples of the Glorious Jewel Center obtained this rare opportunity of this gathering with His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and the rare chance to hear his speech. During the afternoon tea, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, who sat on the left rear side of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, frequently leaned himself toward His Holiness to make additional marks and explanations of the questions raised by disciples and believers. It indicates that a true disciple, even noble as a Rinpoche, wholeheartedly attended to his Guru.

Before the tea gathering come to an end, all the attendees recited dedication prayers. Afterwards, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, and Tritsab Rinpoche left the venue in the fading sound of thank you from the attendees.
