After staying in Taiwan for nearly three weeks, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, the supreme head of the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddism, departed for Kyoto, Japan. At invitation of the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, Abbot of Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, His Holiness is going to officiate the inauguration ceremony of the first puja venue of Drikung Kagyu in Japan. After being inaugurated at 9 a.m. on May 29, 2008, the venue will serve not only as an unprecedented establishment of Drikung Kagyu, but also as the pioneer of the Four Major Schools of Tibetan Buddhism in Japan. Its symbolic meaning is, therefore, of unsurpassable importance.
