Our Association Praised as “First-Rate Organization” by the Ministry of the Interior at the 102nd Annual National Performance Evaluation of Social and Professional Organizations
Thanks to the leadership, guidance, and supervision of its presiding guru, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Cultural Exchange Association was awarded the title of “First-Rate Organization” by the Ministry of the Interior at the 102nd Annual National Performance Evaluation of Social and Professional Organizations. A total of 13,604 organizations were judged, and three levels of classification were given out by the evaluation panel: “First-Rate,” “A-Grade,” and “B-Grade.” This time the Association was again awarded the most honorable title of “First-Rate Organization” among all the social organizations.
The criteria used by the Ministry of the Interior to evaluate organizations included “organizational operations,” “activity promotions,” and “public services.” Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche not only presides in person over the pujas; the guru also keeps his finger on the pulse of the Association, paying close attention to all of its affairs right down to the minutest detail in a very organized and systematic manner. In all situations, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche instructs and supervises with great patience so that the Association can operate in such a manner that it is reasonable, dependable, transparent, prudent, well-thought-out, pure, principled, and in complete accordance with the law. Furthermore, this Association’s activity promotions and public services primarily involve the holding of pujas and making donations to public welfare. All of its success in these two arenas is owed to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s various achievements in propagating the Dharma to help sentient beings. The Association was only able to receive outstanding marks in each of the evaluation categories thanks to the leadership and guidance of its presiding guru, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. We are very grateful to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
Since establishing the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in 1997, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has held general pujas in Taipei on a weekly basis. For eighteen years this service has continued without interruption, and during these pujas the guru has taught believers and disciples the Right Dharma and prayed for blessings for Taiwan and its people. In addition, every month Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche presides over the “Chod” Puja at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, enabling countless sentient beings in the Six Realms to obtain immeasurable, pure Dharma benefits. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also receives as many as two hundred believers every Saturday who come seeking audience with the guru, using the Dharma to bestow timely assistance that can alleviate their various sources of suffering and affliction.
In addition to holding pujas and receiving believers at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, since the year 2000 Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has held or co-hosted many grand pujas in Taiwan for the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. These have included the 2002 Great Phowa of the Amitabha Pure Land Puja and the Great Parna Shabari Puja for Eliminating Diseases, both of which had more than ten thousand attendees; and the Grand Memorial Puja Commemorating the 793rd Anniversary of Lord Jigten Sumgon of the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism held in 2010, with fourteen thousand participants; all of these were presided over in person by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Furthermore, starting in 2005, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has presided over the Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness annually for nine years in a row. This puja’s attendees have gradually increased in number from five thousand in 2005 to twenty-two thousand in 2013, and the total number of participants over the years adds up to more than 150,000. Since 2011 Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has also held the Grand Memorial Puja for Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgön in Taiwan for three years consecutively, benefiting countless sentient beings.
Under Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s instructions, the grand pujas neither charge their participants any entry fees nor allow any charity bazaars or other business activities to be conducted on the premises. Only if all of the attendees participate in these grand pujas for transferring consciousness with pure intentions can sentient beings in the Six Realms obtain the greatest of Dharma benefits. Furthermore, upon the perfect completion of each grand puja, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche donates all of the funds raised from offerings made by the attendees to the Ministry of the Interior to serve as social welfare charity, thereby helping Taiwanese people in need. In addition to donating these offerings, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave an additional NT$2 million to the donations fund raised at the 2009 Grand Puja for Transferring Consciousness to help with reconstruction costs for victims of Typhoon Morakot. Over more than nine years the donations from pujas held to perfect completion by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche have added up to at least NT$58 million, and each year the Ministry of the Interior has written Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche a special letter of appreciation.
For over a decade Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has continuously held pujas, received believers suffering from various troubles, and helped sentient beings to replace suffering with happiness in accordance with their unique causal conditions. In addition, the guru has prayed for peace and blessings for Taiwan, its people, and the rest of the world, and has given charity donations to the government for public welfare so that the most vulnerable among the Taiwanese people can find security and stability. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s constant propagation of the Dharma has brought benefits and joy to countless sentient beings in the Six Realms. Thanks to the guru’s strict and orderly leadership, guidance, and supervision in all of its affairs, the Association was yet again able to receive the highest honor from this year’s evaluation of organizations across the country. We are supremely grateful to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
