The Grand Memorial Puja for Lord Jigten Sumgön, presided over by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Comes to a Perfect Completion

On June 22nd, 2014, in response to a sincere invitation by his root disciple, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang visited the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center to preside over the Grand Memorial Puja for Lord Jigten Sumgön and to perform the Guru Yoga. As many as 1,500 people attended.

When His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was there to greet his car and extend a reverent welcome and to respectfully present a khata. In close attendance, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang into the Buddhist Center. Drikung Kagyu Regent, His Eminence Tritsab Rinpoche, His Eminence Trichen Rinpoche, His Eminence Rinje Rinpoche, His Eminence Sopa Rinpoche, and many Khenpos and Lamas of the Drikung Kagyu Order had also been invited to the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center to participate in this auspicious puja.

During the puja, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche made a mandala-offering to His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and sat to the left of the Dharma throne, in constant attendance to the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang’s every need. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang began to perform the auspicious Guru Yoga. In the process, he performed the Tsok. Each of the attendees received offering items that had been blessed by the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang as well as the rare and auspicious causal condition to partake food with the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas during the puja. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang led the attendees in chanting the mantra for a very long time, and bestowed precious Dharma teachings upon the attendees. Afterward, after being given permission by the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche explained to the disciples how extremely rare and auspicious it was that His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang had come to visit the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center. He urged the disciples to cherish this great good fortune and to be diligent in their Buddhist practice.
