Under the personal teaching, leadership and supervision of the abbot-guru – His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Culture Exchange Association of the Republic of China won the honor of Excellent Professional Entity in the 2011 Appraisal of Social and Professional Entities of National Importance. The total number of Social and Professional Entities of National Importance is 10,298 and the result of the Appraisal is divided into three categories of Excellent, First Class, and Second Class. Our Association has won the highest honor of “Excellent Social and Professional Entity” thanks to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

Since the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center was founded in 1997, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been regularly presiding over the puja in Taipei every Sunday for 16 years incessantly, teaching orthodox Buddhism to believers and disciples and praying for blessings for the land of Taiwan and its people. The guru also presides over the Chod Puja in the Buddhist Center on a monthly basis, bringing immeasurable pure Dharma benefits to countless sentient beings of the Six Realms. Furthermore, with up to 200 believers who come to seek an audience with the guru every Saturday, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gives them timely help one after another based on Buddhism according to the different kinds of suffering and affliction they may have.

In addition to the pujas held at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center and reception of believers, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been sponsoring or co-sponsoring many pujas in Taiwan in honor of the Drikung Kagyu Order since 2000, including the 10,000-people Great Puja of the Phowa – the Dharma of Amitabha’s Pure Land, and the 10,000-people Great Puja of the Yidam Parnashavari Healing Diseases in 2002, as well as the Grand Memorial Puja Commemorating the 793rd Anniversary of Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgon in 2010, attended by 14,000 people. These three events were all presided over by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Besides, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been presiding over the annual Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness in Taiwan for eight consecutive years since 2005, with the number of attendees steadily growing from 5,000 in the first year to 22,000 in 2012, and the total accumulated number of attendees exceeding 117,000. Moreover, for two consecutive years since 2011, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been presiding over the Grand Memorial Puja in Honor of Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgon in Taiwan, benefiting boundless sentient beings.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche instructed that no fee would be charged for attending the pujas, and that no commercial activity such as charity sales would be permitted in the puja, so that all participants could attend those pure and indiscriminate grand pujas with a pure heart, allowing sentient beings of the Six Realms to receive the maximum Dharma benefits. In addition, upon perfect conclusion of the pujas, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would donate all the monetary offerings from the attendees to the Department of Social Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior as funds for social welfare and charity to help the needy people in Taiwan. Besides the donations of the received monetary offerings, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also donated an additional NT$2 million during the Great Puja for Transferring Consciousness in 2009 as reconstruction funds in the aftermath of Typhoon Morakok. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has donated a total of more than NT$48 million after perfect completion of these pujas over the last eight years. And each year the Ministry of the Interior would send a special letter of appreciation to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

For over a decade, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been presiding over the pujas, receiving believers with suffering and difficulties and turning their suffering into happiness based on the different causal conditions of sentient beings, praying for blessings for the land of Taiwan, its people and world peace, as well as making donations to social welfare and charity functions of the government which enabled the disadvantaged people of Taiwan to live in peace and security. Countless sentient beings of the Six Realms have benefited because Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has been incessantly promoting Buddhism and bringing them benefits. All aspects of the business of the Association have been well-organized and progressing in order, enabling it to win the highest honor as a nationally important social entity. For all this, we are grateful to His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.
