To Abbots, Rinpoches, Khenpos, Lamas, Disciples and Believers of All Drikung Kagyu Centers in Taiwan:
On August 26, 2012, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, the abbot-guru of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, presided over the Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness of the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism in Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. Under the blessings and protection of Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgon, gurus from past generations, the Three Grace Root Guru His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang, and the Dharma protector Achi, the Puja has perfectly completed in purity. The merits of the Puja has greatly benefited an infinite number of sentient beings; and all four groups of attendees, monks, nuns, male lay believers, and female lay believers, were full of Dharma joy.
No mass media advertisement was made to promote this Great Puja of Transferring Consciousness. Nor was there any billboard posted. However, there were over 21,500 people participated in the event, including 6 monastics from Tibetan Buddhism (Khenpo Namdol and lama Suonan from the Drikung Kagyu Order, a Rinpoche and a lama from the Nyingma Order, a Geshe and a lama from the Gelug Order), as well as over 30 monastics of Exoteric Buddhism. All four groups of attendees (monks, nuns, male lay believers, and female lay believers) from both Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism have participated in this auspicious Great Puja together.
The Glorious Jewel Buddhist Culture Exchange Association was solely in charge of organizing the Great Puja. No fees were collected from the attendees. There were no commercial activities nor were any charity sales allowed in the Puja. Moreover, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche donated all the monetary offerings from the attendees, about NT$6.98 million, to the Department of Social Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior as funds for charity and social welfare.
Since 2005, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has consecutively presided over “The Great Indiscriminate Amitabha Puja for Transferring Consciousness of the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.” Over the past 8 years, nearly 120,000 people have participated in the Great Pujas. This has greatly informed the people in Taiwan about the Drikung Kagyu Order and widely propagated the Dharma Lineage of the Order. In addition, the causes and conditions of forever spreading the Drikung Kagyu Dharma Lineage have also been solidified. This year’s Great Puja indeed is an auspicious event of the Drikung Kagyu Order.
Sincerely,
The Glorious Jewel Buddhist Culture Exchange Association
