On June 3rd, 2010, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche especially went to Malaysia to invite his Root Guru – His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang to Taiwan. Among the disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, 600 of them gathered in the airport for the grand reception.

That His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche made this special trip to Taiwan was to preside over the “Grand 793rd Anniversary Memorial Puja of Drikung Kagyu Lord Jigten Sumgon”, and therefore Taiwan was scheduled as the second stop of His Holiness’ world tour 2010. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche particularly went to Malaysia so as to personally receive and squire His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche to Taiwan. Not only so, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had made detailed and comprehensive plans for the reception to His Holiness in advance, to assure the security and comfortability of His Holiness’ Dharma trip from the very first step in Taiwan’s airport, showing his genuine gratitude and reverence towards his Root Guru.

On the grand reception at airport, the 600 disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center was the most eye-catching receiving group. Although it was a large number of people, they were well-regulated and lined in order to reverently wait for His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche and his root disciple Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s arrival. At 7pm when His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche entered the arrival lobby of the airport, the disciples of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center received His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche with greeting in one voice, waving the flags of Drikung Kagyu Order and Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center. On the spot there were still Abbots and lamas from the other centers of Drikung Kagyu in Taiwan, and a few Rinpoches and lamas who had arrived Taiwan for the grand puja warmly receive His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche. They joyfully greeted and shook hands with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

At the airport there were several important print media (The China Times, The Liberty Times, United Daily News, Apple News) and television media (China Television, Taiwan Television, TVBS, Sanlih Entertainment Television, Next Television) to catch the previous scene of His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche’s arrival at Taiwan, and to have a brief interview with His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche in front of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center group. In that evening, the every main media reported the news by the title of one of the Main Four Tibetan Buddhism’s throne holders – His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche – arriving Taiwan to preside over the praying puja and to propagate Buddhism. The media also delivered the news about the grand puja with 14,000 attendees on 6th June.

Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche personally companied His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche to get into the car decorated with five-color scarves and left the airport being escorted by cars.
