His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Puja Teachings – July 25, 2013

Because so many employees and guests of the hotel were imploring for His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s blessings, prior to leaving the hotel the guru bestowed special blessings upon everyone in the dining hall. As the hotel’s staff all lined up inside to wait respectfully, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche first instructed them to prepare milk and rice, and then began to chant mantras and bestow blessings. After chanting mantras for a long while, the guru personally bestowed milk that had been blessed upon the hotel’s employees. In extreme reverence they all knelt down one by one to receive it, and were grateful to His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. After that the guru gave instructions for the blessed milk and rice to be shared with the sentient beings outside, so that countless sentient beings could be benefited. Two employees of the hotel, both of whom were ill, respectfully sought an audience with His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Being merciful to the suffering of sentient beings, the guru personally bestowed Dharma teachings upon both and compassionately blessed them with the vajra.

His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche led the Glorious Jewel disciples on a flight from Dehra Dun to Delhi, and then from Delhi back to Taiwan. Because there was not much layover time between flights, for dinner the disciples had no choice but to grab a simple bite to eat at the airport. His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche took very good care of the disciples by giving special instructions to make arrangements so that the guru could eat together with them in the restaurant, thereby lessening the inconvenience caused by having to wait in the airport and allowing the disciples to have the auspicious causal condition to share a meal with a grand practitioner. The guru’s meticulous care and concern over the disciples, having carefully arranged everything for them, caused them to feel incomparably grateful and to reflect that they had never given the guru their wholehearted care, support, and protection. All they did was to constantly wear Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche out and give the guru reason to worry, and for this the disciples felt extremely ashamed and grievously repentant.

On this trip His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche tirelessly led 306 disciples from the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center to northern India, where they visited Phyang Monastery in Ladakh to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Hevajra Monastery that had been supported by His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. There they also participated in the Avalokiteshvara Empowerment Puja, the Great Drikung Phowa transmission, and the Amitayus Empowerment Puja, over all of which His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Three-Grace Root Guru His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang presided. This gave the disciples an opportunity to form a virtuous affinity with the pure Drikung Kagyu Lineage and Tantra, as well as to accumulate resources they would need along their path toward Buddhist practice. With repentance and respect in their hearts, the disciples expressed their sincere gratitude to His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

Using both actions and words, His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche taught by example how to completely surrender oneself to one’s guru, to have a pure and undefiled attitude of respect, to treat one’s Order with unreserved devotion and loyalty, to guide one’s disciples patiently, to make painstaking efforts to teach and discipline them, to never abandon sentient beings, and to selflessly make great almsgivings. This allowed the disciples to experience a profound realization of the demeanor and virtues of a meritorious, genuinely cultivated, and truly realized guru, and to be able to increase and fortify their desire to practice Buddhism so that they could be liberated from the cycle of life and death. His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s incredibly great compassion and majestic, miraculous power to embrace countless sentient beings caused all sentient beings to obtain such benefits and widespread merits as were difficult to describe. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas all came forward to give support and praise!
