049: With Respect to the Most His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche

I offer my deep respects to the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

I have been a nun for many years. Six years ago, the teacher Cao from I-Lan took me to see Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. When I saw Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, I felt like I was seeing my own flesh and blood, and tears, unbidden, started to fall from my eyes. That night, I attended the auspicious Chod puja. Afterwards, I returned home to listen the audio recoding of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s teaching about the heart sutra; I did not sleep the whole night, such was an auspicious enlightenment! I thought to myself: This is the guru I have been looking for! The next day I asked Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche whether I could take refuge under Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and practice Buddhism. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, in his mercy, agreed to my request. He asked that I first register and wait for further notice.

It has been six years since I took refuge under Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. In those six years, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has given me very conscientious and careful instruction. I feel grateful that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had given me instruction and cared for my health and mind. Through the instruction of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, I had had opportunities to see my problems and correct my faults.

Three years ago, my father passed away due to kidney cancer.  My father obtained the auspicious practice of transfering consciousness of Amitabha Buddha Dharma conducted by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. In August of 2008, my elder brother passed away due to multiple myeloma (a kind of cancer), he also obtained the auspicious practice of Phowa from Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. On the day of my brother’s cremation, I picked up his skull and witnessed a very neat hole on the top of the skull — an auspicious sign that the Phowa practice was completed successfully.

Both my father and elder brother passed away because of cancers. Yet thanks to the blessings of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, neither was in pain before they died. If I had not taken refuge under Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, my family members would not have accumulated the causes and conditions as well as sufficient merits to attain rebirth in the Pure Land. Although I can never pay back the kindness of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, I will try to diligently practice Buddha’s teachings, and am willing use the body, speech, and mind to respectfully make offerings to my Guru, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche.

I hope for Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s continuing health, so that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche may continue to turn the wheel of the Dharma and forever abide in the universe, and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s dharma activities may flourish.
