Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened believers with Buddhism and helped them to relieve all kinds of suffering in the world at Glorious Jewel Jewellery Company.

January 4, 2009

A regular puja was held by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Taipei. First, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that guru is very important for a disciple who wants to learn the Dharma regarding with liberation since one needs to become a monk or nun on the path of Sravaka Vehicle or Pratyeka-Buddha Vehicle. Even the Sixth Patriarch Huineng needed to receive the transmission of the dharma of mind from Fifth Patriarch. Hence, it is impossible to attain accomplishment by learning Buddha-Dharma from TV or reading Sutra by oneself. The Buddha-Dharma could be differentiated into two parts of truth, a mundane truth and a noble truth. Between these two, the noble truth is the only way to be liberated from the cycle of reincarnation and could be accomplished only through guru’s teaching about orthodox Buddha-Dharma. Lama Chopa Guru Puja is the practice to show gratefulness to guru’s blessings and protection. The disciple should make the offering with a reverent heart so as to be able to receive the blessings from Guru. Afterwards, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted the auspicious Lama Chopa Guru Puja of Drikung Kagyu lineage. After the completing the rituals of Lama Chopa Guru Puja, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche continued the teachings about the fourth practice on the buddhist path, that is, if one know the root of delusion, he could come to realize everything, that is, realize the void of nature. That is, everything and all phenomena of the universe are void of nature. They are lack of self-existence in their nature or essence, and arise and cease according to the law of causes and conditions. The practitioner needs to eradicate the 4 notions, i.e. notions of self, person, sentient being, and life span. For example, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s conducting Phowa Dharma for the deceased perfectly from a distance is an example of eradicating the life span notion which is beyond the limitation of time and space. The practitioner who eradicate the four notions could cut off all the roots of the cycle of reincarnation and delusion. The corresponding position for the accomplishment of this practicing is the siddhi of Spranbrala Yoga of Mahamudra. The realm of the void of nature can not be expressed in words. Though the disciples could not realize it at this moment, they would come to attain it spontaneously when the causes and conditions ripen as long as they listen to teachings attentively now. Besides, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also gave enlightenment on the meaning of the feelings of doubt. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche emphasized that there is no emotion in the relationship between the guru and a disciple. What a disciple has to possess is heart of absolute faith and reverence to guru without personal own emotion. Finally, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the mudra in the rituals of Tibetan Buddhism is one kind of signal and is not certain to be a Tantra, and do not be superstitious on it.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche held the regular puja and conducted the auspicious practice of “Green Tara” at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Taipei. First, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave teachings that virtues originated from the practice of charity and patience whiles the merits from the practice of Precepts, Meditations and Wisdom. One can change his own affairs and benefit the sentient beings only by merits. However, most of Buddhist centers are to practice virtues rather than merits. The difference between virtues and merits is just at one instant in thought. When we misthink and we would merely attain the virtues even by practice of Precepts, Meditations and Wisdom. Virtues are to be used in the future lives while merits could be used in this life. The so-called “anger burns one’s merit” is that all the merits practiced and accumulated from the past are transferred to virtues at instant when disrespecting the Three Gems, especially being angry with Guru. Those Gurus who beat, scold and expel their disciples are the Gurus who practice merits, and their power of benefiting the sentient beings is extraordinarily strong. Then Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that when Avalokitesvara saw the sentient beings of the Six Realms has been suffering in the cycle of reincarnation continuously, Avalokitesvara wept two teardrops which became the White Tara and the Green Tara respectively. Practice of White Tara Dharma could yield obstacles and that of Green Tara Dharma could fulfill the sentient beings’ wishes. Besides, practicing of Green Tara Dharma is equal to that of the 21 Taras Dharma since Green Tara is the head of the 21 Taras. During the process of conduction, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also enlightened that making offering is needed for all Dharma practices. It is a skillful means, by which sentient beings could increase the accumulation of virtues and wisdom and even though they have no wisdom to realize. Through the practice of Green Tara Dharma, Guru could help the sentient beings to pacify all kinds of obscurations such as ill devil, poverty, fighting, etc. Nonetheless, the enhancement of longevity, wealth and virtues of sentient beings still need to practice Buddha Dharma by them. It is because all practices of Buddha-Dharma consist of the mudane dharma the supramundane dharma. The mudane dharma is used to fulfill the sentient beings’ wishes first, but the supramundane dharma is still the utmost importance. To develop Bodhicitta on the Buddhist path, one has to attain the mercy and compassion heart without affectation and then to attain the enlightenment of void of nature. The mudane Bodhicitta is spoken by mouth and thought by brain. Only noble Bodhicitta could be used freely to benefit sentient beings immediately when each mind comes out. After the perfect completion of the conduction of Green Tara Dharma practice, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also enlightened that, as being prophesied by the dharma text, those who attended this auspicious puja with firm faith to Guru would have causes and conditions to attain rebirth in the Pure Land. In addition, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the” Long Life Prayer for the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche” written by His Holiness Drikung Kagyu Chetsang is to confirm Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s position in this life and to prophesy Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s future. It means the disciples could be with Guru and the lineage in the common virtuous karma by reciting the Long Life Prayer. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also enlightened that worship of ghost is a Chinese custom that has existed since ancient time till now. Chinese people also have held worship of ancestors and Japan and Korea were furthermore influenced by this custom. However, worship of ancestor is not the way of Buddhism. In Chinese traditional custom, people not only hold ghost worship ceremony but also pray for their ancestors to protect them. In fact, however, the ancestors are still suffering in the Ghost realm of the six realms of reincarnation, and are not able to protect the descendants. If we pray like that way, the ancestors would be attached emotionally and couldn’t be transferred calmly and peacefully. Definitely, it’s not good for the ancestors. Therefore, during Chinese New Year holidays, at least do not sacrifice the meat to the ancestors if we could make our own decisions. If we have no choice and ought to hold the incense sticks to pray, do not make any request to the ancestors, either.

January 17, 2009

The His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted Lama Chopa Guru Puja at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Douliu. First, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave teachings that Lama Chopa Guru Puja is presented only in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, but is not in the Exoteric Buddhism. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened the believers among whom mostly live by farming in the Central and Southern Taiwan with the metaphor that portrays the Guru as a farmer who carefully looks after each of the seeds so they would germinate and bear fine fruit. However, Guru, unlike farmers who reap the fruits for sell to earn money, devotes himself without requesting any repay. All Gurus wish that the sentient beings could be liberated from the cycle of reincarnation, attain the Buddhahood, and furthermore benefit the other beings. Shakyamuni has ever enlightened that our parents gave birth to us and bestowed us the human body which is exactly a Dharma instrument that we can use to practice and learn the Buddha-Dharma. Therefore, it is not enough to repay the parents’ kindness even by making offering to them with all the precious jewels and fortunes of the entire world. Nonetheless, parents only give us human body in this life, but Guru takes care of us life after lifes. We are supposed to feel gratitude to our parents, let alone our Guru who takes care of us life after lifes to helps us be liberated from the cycle of birth and death as well as the cycle of reincarnation. As it is said that, “He who teaches us for one day is my father for life.” However, modern people do not think highly of it. The conditions with parents would be ceased for this life, but that between Guru and us would last life after lifes. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche once had been supposed to have a severe car accident. However, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche saw Lord Jigten Sumgon who lived 800 years ago and came to rescue Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche two days right before the incident. Hence, we could see that the Guru has been taking care of us life after lifes. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche continued to enlighten that Drikung Kagyu Order is a school that thinks highly of the lineage. The first to tell the good Guru from the bad is to see if the Guru’s lineage is clear or not. For example, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Guru is His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche and His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche also has his Guru. The entire lineage is very clear and uninterrupted. In learning the Buddhism, we have to follow a virtuous Guru, not to recite sutra or mantra at home by oneself. It takes three major kalpas, longer than the period to the earth destruction, to attain the accomplishment through the practice of Exoteric Buddhism. It is impossible to attain the accomplishment in this life by that but the time would be shortened if one follows a Guru who has attained accomplishment in Tantric Dharma. It must rely on Guru to attain accomplishment in one’s practice and therefore we must have the reverent heart and loyalty to our Guru. Tantric Dharma is not transmitted in public and that’s so-called “Targeted teaching is not to be heard by more than two pairs of ears.”, and is transmitted by Guru one to one. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche gave an example that there was once upon a time His Holiness’s mother came in His Holiness’s retreat room unexpectedly at the moment when His Holiness was transmitting Tantric Dharma to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche there. His Holiness closed his mouth instantly and stared at His Holiness’s mother. When His Holiness’s mother saw it, she apologized and left away immediately. After she left, His Holiness started over to transmit Dharma. Therefore, a Guru acting according to Dharma would not distort Buddha-Dharma for any kind of reason. Since the Tang Dynasty, Tantric Dharma was rarely transmitted while they still have been reserved well in Tibet. The teaching of Drikung Kagyu Order is very strict, even much stricter than the other orders. Besides, Drikung Kagyu Order thinks highly of holding precepts and mainly focus on practice. Many people thought few practitioners of Drikung Kagyu Order could be seen in public. It is because most of Drikung Kagyu’s practitioners practice in remote mountains. Although there are four orders in Tibetan Buddhism, the result of all is the same and the difference is just about the methods. One would be in an order according to his own causes and conditions. Guru like farmers chooses the appropriate seeds and saw them in the Buddha field. The reason why practitioners of Drikung Kagyu are few is their focus on the practice which differs from the modern people’s thoughts of begging. In fact, early before more than 800 years, there were 180,000 monistic disciples at the time of Lord Jigten Sumgon. Lord Jigten Sumgon had ever assigned 50,000 disciples to perform retreat in the caves, where still exist now, in Lapchi Snow Mountain. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also attained the accomplishment through retreat practice. His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche also told in public that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was very strict in teachings and his disciples could be beat. That’s so-called “Spare the rod and spoil the child.” The reason why we could not see the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in person is not because that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are not merciful or compassionate, but is that we request it with desire. Because of our strong karma obstacle, we do not have virtues to receive the Buddha-Dharma directly from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Instead, we only receive the Buddha Dharma by Guru. Therefore, Guru is on behalf of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The fact of make offerings to is actually that Guru is on behalf of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to receive the offerings. The power of making offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas by Guru for us is stronger than that by ourselves. It is because that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is making the offerings by meditation to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Many people request Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to save them but they still eat meat. As a matter of fact, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas keep teaching us to eat vegetarian diets and to reduce our desires. Although Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche suffered skin cancer at the age of 45, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche did not go to doctor or take medicine. Instead, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche exerted himself to learn and practice the Buddha-Dharma without asking, and finally survived. The more we are not afraid of death, the longer life we live. We will die definitely and would be affected by the attachment while we are dying. If one has much attachment before dying, one tends to fall into the three lower realms. The practices are for the moment of dying since it is really easy to fall into the three lower realms. We have to believe in impermanence which does not imply death, and, instead, means that everything changes every minute and every second and does not remain the same forever. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche perfectly conducts the practice of the Phowa Dharma with being beside the deceased. The deceased told Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche their attachment whenever their consciousness were summoned to the front of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche told us at the moment when one is dying, do not cry nor discuss their post-life affairs beside the deceased. Otherwise, their anger would arise and his consciousness could not be transferred. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that there are three reasons why one got stammered when reciting mantra. They are eating meat, insufficient mediation power and deficient Qi (vital energy). These could be practiced by the Tantric dharma. Monastic practitioners who have sufficient virtues practice Buddha Dharma by yielding vexation. Lay people who do not have enough virtues have to practice the Bodhisattva Path by vexations. It depends on personal causes and conditions to be monastic or lay. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche practices as a lay practitioner and so Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche knows well the vexations of all of us. Therefore, the disciples do not have to be monastic, either. So it is unnecessary to worry if to be monastic or to be able of getting married and having children etc after starting to learn and practice the Buddha Dharma. Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche perfectly completed the conduction of the auspicious Lama Chopa Guru Puja of Drikung Kagyu lineage. After that, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche persuaded the attendees to recall if they do anything wrong in the past year? If they wasted another year again and have lost one more year to learn and practice the Buddha Dharma? Think in details, the life human being live are not different from that of animals. Do not say we are too busy to learn and practice the Buddha Dharma again. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche is in charge of 7 companies in Taiwan, Japan and India as well as 80 employees. However Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche went to retreat for 3 months immediately when His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche instructed Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to retreat. During the Chinese New Year, do not eat meat anymore. January 1st is a brand new beginning for a year and there will be many virtuous deities coming down to see if anyone does evil. Eating meat is doing evil. For a true practitioner, he won’t eat any meat even if he is to be beaten death. This is the matter of determination. Many Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s employees who are not disciples start eating vegetarian diets now. Their skin become nicer and appearance become better. What their eyes look like change too. In fact, eating vegetarian diets is just a change of eating habit. It is just like there is someone who does not eat something. It is not strange to be a vegetarian. Yet it is strange to eat meat. The skin of girls would become nice without applying cosmetics only by eating vegetarian diets. Once one takes a bite of meat, his fortune and wealth would be cut, having fewer merits. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that those who are not able to do prostration to the Buddhas on their knees are not able to accumulate virtues. Through throwing the five parts of body (both knees, both elbows and the head) to the ground in prostration to the Buddhas, one’s five poisons that are greed, hatred, delusion, self-conceit, and doubt, could be eliminated by releasing them from his body down to the ground. So it must be full prostration where both knees, both elbows and the head hit the ground. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will give back for each prostration we make to them. How is Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche able to accept the prostration made by so many people if Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche does not have sufficient virtues? Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche hopes that every attendee could cherish the causes and condition as well as merits and virtues of attending such an auspicious puja. In the Lama Chopa Guru Puja this time, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche prayed for everyone not falling into the lower realms and for having the opportunity to obtain human body in next life to learn and practice Buddha’s dharma. After the completion of Puja at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Douliu, Rinpoche went back to Glorious Jewel Jewellery Company to enlighten believers with Buddhism and helped them to relieve all kinds of suffering in the world.

January 18, 2009

The His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche held the regular puja and conducted the auspicious Buddha Amitayus puja at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, Taipei. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened in the puja: The Buddha Amitayus rituals is presented only in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, but is not in the Theravada Buddhism, Hinayana Buddhism, or Exoteric Buddhism. Buddha has three Bodies, i.e. Truth Body, Enjoyment Body, and Emanation Body, and Buddha Amitayus is the Enjoyment Body of Amitabha Buddha. The realm of Truth Body is impossible to describe by words. That’s why it is represented by the word “Dharma” of the Buddha Dharma”. The Enjoyment Body of Buddha is created from the karmic power of sentient being. In fact, our body is the Enjoyment Body and is effect of all kinds of karma. People could prevent untimely death by attending the Buddha Amitayus puja, and accumulate the causes and conditions to attain rebirth on Pure Land on behalf of the late relatives. The fortune of human life span is fixed and the fortune could be earned for this life is set by how much offering had been made in last life. The change of longevity is comparatively large and is related to personal practice. That means that longevity is attained by practice, not by asking. The reason why the practitioners need the longevity is not because of afraid of death. Instead, they need enough longevity to practice Buddha Dharma so as to accumulate the virtues and wisdom to attain the accomplishment of enlightenment. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche suffered the cancer at the age of 45. However, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has increased the lifespan up to the present age of 62 in accordance with Buddha-Dharma to live without asking. Richen Dorjee Rinpoche has ever helped disciples increase their lifespan by more than one year so that they had time to accumulate virtues and helped them possess merits and virtues as well as causes and conditions for obtaining the Phowa Dharma when they passed away. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also enlightened that people get sick because of the unbalanced four major elements, i.e. earth, wind, water and fire. The four major elements lost by doing evils from greedness, hatred, and delusion. There are two aims to practice the longevity. One is to accumulate the virtues and merits for vowing to rebirth on Pure Land and further to benefit sentient beings; while the other is to practice on behalf of parents. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the Esoteric Dharma could break up the construction into elements, and reassembled and realigned them. That is why Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche could make a hole on the skull of the deceased by conduction of the Phowa Dharma. By modern science, the construction could be broken up but is not able to be neither reassembled nor realigned. To vow to rebirth on the Pure Land is very important. Vowing to reincarnate could be possible only when one has attained the Eighth Ground position of Bodhisattva or perfected the Bodhisattvas’ behavior in this life. Otherwise, people only gain with karma. It is needed to practice merits with the strong supramundane heart which makes the difference between practice of virtues and that of merits. Merit is unlimited to use life after lifes while virtues is limited. However, if you had a tiny bit of doubt and misthought to the Guru as well as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the merits will transfer into virtues at the instant. We must believe in Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as well as Guru thoroughly. The so-called “faith, vows, and practice” is to believe we ourselves could achieve the practices that Guru as well as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have been teaching. In that way, the “vow” would have power and the practice would take effects. After that, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted the Buddha Amitayus rituals and led the attendees to recite the heart mantra of Amitayus. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that those who attended this puja would keep away from the natural disaster and mankind calamities such as war, drought etc. The life span not only was cut, scattered and replaced by smoking, drinking and eating meat etc but also was stolen by the devils. Pray for the blessings of Budhas and Buddhasava, Gurus, Yidams, and Dharma Protectors through the Buddha Amitayus rituals to grant all the essence of longevity, virtues, fortune, life to all the attendees. Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche mercifully and compassionately gave blessings in person to all attendees one after another through the treasure vase, helping them with Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s own grand virtues, and bestowed nectar and nectar pills upon all attendees. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche instructed all disciples to recite 10 thousand times Mani mantra on the Lunar Chinese New Year Eve and to transfer the merits to all sentient beings in Ten Directions as well as the Western Paradise Pure Land, to pray for not only world peace but also the stability of Taiwan, families, and persons. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche reminded the believers not to eat meat any more since all turmoil of war, disputes, and malignant disease were originated from eating meat. Eating one piece of meat would cut down the virtues and fortune by a little. Eating meat is the same habitual behavior of the ghost, and it is also said in the sutra texts that eating green onion and garlic would attract ghosts and the ghosts would absorb the essence of your body. The taste of human sense organs is the easiest one to be suppressed, therefore practice starting from eating is the easiest way. On the first day of Lunar Chinese New Year Hollidays,Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche will conduct the “35 Buddha Repentance” which is worshipped by Tibet Buddhism in Tibet but is not in Taiwan. “35 Buddha Repentance” was depicted in the Maharatnakuta Sutra and is the only Repentance that was introduced by Buddha Shakyamuni. It would dispel a lot of obstacles of practice for the practitioners on the Bodhisattva path. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would also conduct 2 Jambhala Dharmas to compensate our lost fortune due to doing bad deeds and increase our fortune respectively. The practice of Jambhala of Tibetan Buddhism is not to attain the fortune for pleasure, and the fortune could not be earned with thinking of pleasure either. Basically, we need the fortune to maintain our life and the fortune is also needed for retreat. The most important is to make offering and charity after obtaining the fortune.

January 22, 2009

The His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted the auspicious Chod puja of Drikung Kagyu lineage at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Taipei. First of all, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the most important purpose of learning Buddha’s teachings is to be liberated from birth and death, which is hard to attain only through the practices of Exoteric Buddhism. Therefore, the Buddha introduced the Dharma of Amitabha. The sentient beings of the decay age of Dharma have deep and serious bad karma.  Everything they did is beneficial to themselves, but harmful to others. The cause of the recent financial storm was that many people were so greedy as to be cheated. The consume vouchers from the government were over distributed by 5 millions N.T.D and those who received more than they deserved but pretended knowing noting are exactly greedy. Everyone makes bad karma due to their greed, hatred, and delusion everyday without being aware of it. They accumulate big evil from little evils, and do not believe that all act, behavior, and thought follows the law of cause and the effect. The cause and effect is not invented by the Buddha Shakyamuni, but actually is the truth already that exists in the universe, just like that smoking is harmful to health naturally. Smoking was commenced by Native American Indian and then was spread all over of the world. Eventually the Native American Indian were almost exterminated.

As the Sutras stated, the daughter of King Devil cast her stool and urine into the human world which became the drugs, cigarettes, wine, green onions and garlic, respectively. Those who often eat the green onions and garlic are short-tempered, and those who often eat the cooked ones have exuberant hormones secretion and a stronger sexual desire. In addition, ghosts enjoy staying right next to those who often eat the green onions and garlic to suck that flavor from their mouths. The reason why human beings feel suffered is originated from the 4 kinds of affairs, i.e. love, hatred, affection, and vengeance. As long as being attached to these, there would be afflictions and sufferings. Attachment is different from endeavors. The practitioners of Buddhism endeavor to do things but are not attached to the result, and instead are adapted to every condition. Those who have strong attachment will be suffered from the pains such as mental illnesses, depression, and so forth. The practitioners of Buddhism take the suffering as a drive for practice and their heart won’t be affected by them. It is because only experiencing and understanding of sufferings could help liberate from sufferings. Even His Holiness Kyabgon Chetsang and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche both have experienced much suffering.

Next Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened the origin of the “Chod” dharma. The Chod dharma was originated by Machig Lapdron in Tibet. It is one of the Eight Sadhana practices of Tibetan Buddhism and mainly uses the mercy and compassion heart of wisdom, void of nature, to save and liberate the sentient beings. Mercy is to replace the suffering of sentient beings with self own happiness. Compassion is to help the beings liberate from the suffering, i.e. the suffering of the cycle of reincarnation. Therefore in order to practice this dharma, one must first be able to liberate from cycle of reincarnation and suffering of death, so as to attain the so-called “great mercy of void conditions, great compassion of the equal body”. The word “void” in the so-called “great mercy of void conditions” does not mean nothing. It is regarding with void of nature to liberate the beings with emptiness’s merciful causes and conditions. That does not mean those who have conditions should be helped too. Only those who accept Buddha’s teachings are having the conditions, and those who do not have such conditions could not be liberated. The real meaning is helping beings without attachment, just like Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche that forgets the helps that helped the beings. The so-called “great compassion of the equal body” is means all beings are equally as the same as the Buddha because all sentient beings are originated from the fission of one cell. Therefore help sentient beings liberate from the cycle of reincarnation with even mindedness. Only those gurus who attain the realization of void of nature are able to conduct the Chod Dharma, furthermore with a special dharma instrument, i.e. a human tibia bone. Many people are curious about why human bones are used quite often as the dharma instruments by Vajrayana. It is because they represent impermanence to remind people that there is nothing but only bones left after they die, and therefore there is nothing worth being attached to! This instrument is very difficult to obtain, and could be found only by very auspicious causes and conditions. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, the root Guru of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, bestowed this dharma instrument that was used by His Holiness in person for the Chod Dharma upon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. It represents the lineage of Drikung Kagyu’s Chod Dharma is now held by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. This dharma instrument was the tibia bone of a young woman who had died from an accident. By blowing this instrument, the practitioner attracts the beings in realm of hell as well as beings in the realm of hungry ghosts, and the lonely wandering spirits, particularly our parents, ancestors and beings we had ever hurt life after lifes. Then the practitioner contemplates his own body into nectar that is given to these beings.

Then, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted the auspicious Chod Dharma. After the perfect completion of the conduction, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that the beings who came today were taken away by Avalokitesvara, and even the beings who believe other orthodox religions, such as Catholics or Christians, also went to the realm of Heaven where they believe in their faith. The Buddha Dharma is not only to help the followers of Buddhism, but all beings in need. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche consecutively dreamed of many sentient beings from the realm of hell a few days ago, indicating that many deceased relatives of today’s attendees were suffering in Hell. It is said in Buddhist Sutra that we must repay four kinds of kindness and one of them is that of parents’, the kindness of upbringing of parents’ for past lives. The Discovery channel has once reported that a 9000-year-old human skeleton had been discovered in Scotland, and the DNA of the discovered skeleton was the same as that of the one nearby villager. This indicates that a person will be reincarnated and attain rebirth again, and we will be affected by the sufferings of our parents in previous lives. All words in Buddhist Sutra are words of the real truth. The Science, which is the cultivation of mankind’s experience, however, still cannot understand these truths. It has been already said in the Buddhist Sutra 3000 years ago that people get parasites in their eyes, eyebrows, ears, hair root, and neck since they were born. And this fact can not be proofed by the science until the present time. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche once again reminded the followers not to eat meat any more. All of the nutrition obtained by eating meat has entered human cells. So a person would become a pig in next life if he has eaten much more pork and would become a cow in next life if he has eaten much more beef. Before the Lunar New Year, the Kitchen God of each family will return to the realm of Heaven and report the bad karma that the family members have done. Those who possess treacherous evil behaviors and mind would soon be taken away, so not to make killing karma by eating meat during the Lunar Chinese New Year. Although Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche in this life has never taken a knife to cut meat due to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s practices in past lives, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche still had eaten meat for more than thirty years and the karma of eating meat in this life could only solved by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s retreat. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche suffered skin cancer at the age of 45, and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s karma was suppressed by learning Buddhism. In 2008, the callus from the skin cancer on Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s face was completely detached, only after the retreat in 2007 on the sacred Lapchi mountain of 4500 meters high in Nepal.

Those people who do not have the conditions for retreat could solve the karma of eating meat only by attending pujas. Don’t worry about if the family oppose to the attending pujas. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s mother did not understand it at the beginning, but eventually came to attend puja actively. It was mainly because she saw Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche changed a lot. Mother is the one who knows her children best. The mother would know how wonderful the Buddha Dharma when her child changes. Cherish the causes and conditions made by Buddha and Guru for learning Buddhism. Broadly cultivate field of virtues, under the Guru’s guidance, to make offerings as well as charities by self own conditions and capability; not only to Guru but also to those in need. For example, help those who need money to see doctors or eat by giving money to them in person. Live by adapting to each of the conditions and keep calm for whatever happens. The conditions would pass away whatever they are good or bad. For example, think the sufferings would come to the end eventually when they happen, otherwise they would last more time when being attached. Keep the mind calm abiding is to keep the mind on the clear nature or Buddahood. If it is difficult to make that, keep the mind on one sentence of Buddha name or mantra, or contemplate Guru and Yidam if taking medication is good enough. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also reminded believers not to eat meat during New Years holidays. Don’t leave the venue and eat meat again after Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has helped clean karma up. Many hyperactive children have been improved gradually after they sought refuge with attending pujas continuously and became vegetarians. It’s impossible to help those who don’t seek refuge nor eating vegetarian food.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened believers with Buddhism and helped them to relieve all kinds of suffering in the world at Glorious Jewel Jewellery Company.

January 26, 2009

On the first day of the Chinese New Year holidays, the His Eminence Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche still painstakingly held the all-day puja at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center, to conduct the “35 Buddha Repentance”, “Black Water Jambhala Dharma” and “Elephant Jambhala Dharma” for disciples and believers. The puja was started from 8:30AM. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche first enlightened: What we do on the first day of the New Year, no matter it is good or bad, will affect many things for this year. According to Agricultural Calendar, today it is not suitable to do things except for worshiping. It is only suitable to make prostration to the Buddhas. There was a solar eclipse occurred today. For Esoteric Buddhism, it would accumulate great merits to hold Buddhist Ceremony during special climate conditions such as solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, storm or earthquake etc. Therefore it is of great benefits to conduct pujas today. The Repentance dharma of Buddhism is very different from that of other religions. The Repentance of other Religions is apology. The first Chinese character of “Repentance” (or repent) means that one must admit, accept and be responsible for the things done in the past, while the other character (or regret) means that one should no longer commit any tiny bit of the same deeds in the future again. Yet the worldly people do not believe in the truth of cause and effect. Some people think that bad things would not happen and some people think that they would wait and see what to do till bad things really happen! If one does not repent, he won’t have the power of regret, and won’t be able to practice the Bodhisattva Path. Buddha classified the worldly people into three categories. People of the first one do not hurt anyone from birth to death. They are rare and are so-called “Saint”. People of another one know to repent themselves. Most of the people, those of the third one, could not truly repent themselves for their evil deeds. All sentient beings should consecutively repent themselves before attaining buddhahood! If one does not repent, one can not change the karma even if one has made offering and practiced charity. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche furthermore gave the enlightenment by taking an Indian believer diagnosed with cancer as an example. The believer did not believe in the cause and effect and was not willingly to repent. She thought the god she had believed in and worshiped would save her. However, after she had died, it was Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche who helped transfer her consciousness. It was not until when her consciousness was summoned in front of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche and she regretted that she hadn’t repented. Furthermore, only when we repent without concealment in front of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and the guru, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can mediate between us and our karmic creditors so that they would let us have more time to learn the Buddhism so as to repay the karmic debts that we had owed to them. The “Thirty-five Buddhas Repentance Ritual” is depicted in the Maharatnakuta Sutra and was introduced by Buddha Shakyamuni personally. Its power is great and therefore is very beneficial for practicing the Bodhisattva path. It is only conducted by Tibetan Buddhism. The Repentance dharma that was conducted frequently such as “Jewel Repentance of Emperor Liang” or “Water of Compassionate Samadhi Repentance” were originated by people of later times for certain purposes, to solve specific sufferings of some specific sentiment beings. It is not the fact that these Repentance Dharma do not work, but it is position of the person who makes prostration is not right. It is truly filial to worship Buddhas and make repentance prostration on behalf of the parents. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had ever worshipped Buddha on behalf of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s late father everyday. It took Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche one year in worshiping Buddhas that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche saw his late father ascended to the realm of heaven. People usually repent to ask things better to themselves. Yet in 1994, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s business was broken down, and was too poor to afford the rent, meal, or the power bill. However, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had been practicing the Repentance dharma in that whole year. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was grateful to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and karmic creditors for the opportunity to quickly repay the karmic debts and was also hoping that bad things could occur quickly. Therefore, the more Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche made prostration and the more happier Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche felt.

Then Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted “Thirty-five Buddhas Repentance Ritual”, and enlightened us: today’s repentance prostration is for everyone to repay the debts with physical pains. As long as everyone prostrates oneself with all his heart and efforts today, it would help us life after lives, provided we no longer do evils. Through making repentance prostrations, our heart will be purified, and free from the influence of karma. It is important that one should not make any new karmas in the future; so when the bad karma made in the past is repaid, one’s heart will be purified. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche particularly pointed out that the text of the “35 Buddhas Repentance Ritual” teaches us to transfer the merits of repentance prostrations to where all Buddha in the past, present, and future have made, make, and will make, without the slightest intention for themselves. The first Chinese character (迴) of “transference of the merits to the others” (迴向) represents a vessel, carrying us back to the Pure Land. If we can transfer the merits with the heart of Buddha and Bodhisattvas, our meager merits can then be getting strengthen like a drop of water merged into the ocean of Buddha’s and Budhisattvas’ merits.

At ten o’clock in the morning, after a ten-minute break, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche began to conduct Black Water Jambhala Dharma. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened disciples and followers that no fortune is one of the sufferings in our lives too. Conducting Jambhala Dharma is also one way to help all beings alleviate their sufferings. There are five Jambhalas – Black Jambhalas, White Jambhalas, Red Jambhalas, Green Jambhalas, and Yellow Jambhalas. All five Jambhalas are controlled by Avalokiteshvara. Among them, Yellow Jambhala Dharma is conducted by the ordained. The purpose of practicing Yellow Jambhala Dharma is not to accumulate wealth but to have sufficient asset and food to practice and learn Buddha Dharma. Wealth is not obtained by thinking, is but by practicing. That is, how much fortune in this life is fixed by the offering and charity that was made in the past lives. If one, however, does evils in this life, the karmic creditors will block the coming of the wealth. Even if one gets his wealth by asking help from spiritual ghosts, all those wealth will be robbed back later. Reneging on one’s promise, especially the promise to one’s parents, will also reduce one’s wealth. The Black Water Jambhala Dharma is to help our fortune that we could obtain this life won’t be obstructed. The guru that conducts Jambhala Dharma must have the mercy and compassion heart like Avalokitesvara’s. Jambhala is an Eighth Ground Bodhisattva who still has some habitual behavior from many past lives and a heart of slight discriminating. He is between the mundane and the supramundane. Because of this, when conducting this Dharma it is necessary to invite Akshobya (Immovable One) to help modulate Jambhala. The Yidam of Black Water Jambhala presents an awesome and ferocious appearance. So conducting this dharma requires an awesome and ferocious guru of Vajra Group. Furthermore, it is needed that the guru have attained the accomplishment in Yoga Tantra class as well as Highest Yoga Trantra class, received the empowerment of Five Buddha, and accomplished the 4 dharma of cessation, conciliation, enhancement and execution in order to correspond with the Yidam. Jambhala Dharma is the dharma of enhancement. If a Buddhist temple accumulates huge sums of money, this is using Buddha Dharma to collect wealth unfairly, the management of the temple will have to repay these debts in the future life. If the accomplishment that has been attained includes the dharmadhatu wealth, just as that of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche’s and Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s, that is just for benefiting sentient beings, the fortune will be obtained whenever it is wanted and won’t be used up life after lives.

After perfectly conducting the Jambhala Dharma, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche hoped that everyone still have to work hard to make money; even if one has already made offering and dispensed charity in the previous life, one could not earn the wealth without carefully making good use of it. Hope that everyone can earn their fortune fairly, namely the “fair wealth”. Don’t think about making big of money by speculating in the stock market or making money by money. The cause of financial crisis is people’s greed. One should use the gained wealth for offering and charity. When one makes offering, the most important thing is the heart of making offering. When learning Phowa dharma, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was in most poverty and had no money at the time. All the money Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had was NT$1700 dollars while the tuition of learning Phowa dharma was NT$1500 dollars. Nonetheless, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would rather pay the tuition and leave himself penniless. This is a big offering. Because of such a pious heart of making offering, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche was the only one who had the crown of the head opened with a through and through round hole among all one hundred pupils that learned Phowa dharma at the same time. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s practice is to give charity no matter what will happen even if become the poorest. When money is needed by venue, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would rather pay the venue rent first by use the money that was originally to pay Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s own rent. When friend needs money, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche would give friend the money that was originally for attending puja. The reason why Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche attains accomplishment in practice Buddha Dharma so quickly is majorly by practice of Repentance Dharma and Making Offering Dharma. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche also advised the followers not to eat meat again since a piece of one’s fortune will be gone if one eat a piece of meat or drink a mouthful of wine. Eventually, one’s wealth will be all gone. Jambhala’s hand always holds a rat of money, not a mouse or a vole. So hope that everyone will not hurt a mouse when seeing one. Otherwise, the fortune will be lost.

At two o’clock in the afternoon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted White Mahakala’s Elephant Jambhala Dharma. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that White Mahakala is Mahakala, who was originally a daemon with great power and frequently did harm to all beings. Later, Avalokitesvara, according to the mind of Mahakala, emanated as the most beautiful woman in the world considered by Mahakala. This convinced and converted Mahakala to be a Dharma protector of Buddhism. His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche has ever elightened a story about Mahakala. Nagajuna, India’s Mahasiddha, once traveled very far and saw a big stone that was an emanation of Mahakala. Nagajuna then invited Mahakala to Nagajuna’s monastery to be the Dharma protector. When Nagajuna went back to his monastery, however, he did not see Mahakala. So Nagajuna conducted a ritual to invite Mahakala to appear, and asked the reason. Mahakala answered that the monks in the monastery did not make offerings, so Mahakala did not go to the monastery. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened it is not that Mahakala wanted the offerings, it is that when there was no offering there would be no virtues; when there was no virtues Buddha and Bodhisattvas could not help even if Buddha and Bodhisattvas would like to.

Elephant Jambhala was originally a very rich prince, and he frequently made charity. However, he was too virtuous that he did not discriminate the good deed from the bad deed. Even if people asked for money intending to do evil things, he would still dispense money to them. As a result, his charity help many people do evil things. He was later killed and beheaded by White Mahakala; then the killed prince was put on an elephant head and became a Jambhala who protects and supports Buddha Dharma. Since elephants are the most vigorous animals on earth, Elephant Jambhala therefore has great power. It is necessary to burn precious black Aquilaria when conducting this Dharma. Some Dharma rituals in Vajrayana have to have special offerings. This is because Yidam diety in his past like things of such offerings, for example favoring the smells of black Aquilaria. And some Yidam deity’s relatives and dharma protectors still have habitual behavior of human beings, so these special offerings are included in the transmission of the rituals to provide such kind of offerings to Yidam deity. Most Venerable Yunga Rinpoche personally and voluntarily transmitted to and empowered Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche with this Elephant Jambhala Dharma without Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s asking. The Causes and Conditions for Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to obtain this Elephant Jambhala Dharma is that Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has once offered a Buddhist statue of White Mahakala in one of the Drikung Kagyu’s Buddhist centers.

Conducting this White Mahakala’s Elephant Jambhala Dharma can increase everyone’s wealth so that everyone will not starve to death, will have clothes to wear and have the house to live, in the hope that everyone can practice calmly and peacefully. The first thing after one gets any fortune is to make offering. Do not start to make offering only after all loans are paid off. We should follow the teaching in Buddhist Sutra of dividing our monthly income into four parts, one for offering, others for family expenses and savings. Do not use the earned fortune to buy lottery tickets or to do speculative ventures for getting more money, which will develop the mind of greed. At the end, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche reminded all disciples again that stuff of venue is from the money of all beings. If there is any disciple who does not want to learn and practice Buddha Dharma, his possession that are belong to venue should be returned back, so that he would avoid going down to the hell due to taking possession of Buddhist venue. If his possession is not returned back, we will be suffered the common karma together with them. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche further enlightened that on Lunar New Year’s Eve everyone was instructed to recite Mani Mantra for ten thousand times. It was equivalent to eight million times when the eight hundred disciples here recited Mani Mantra together. This was very rare and auspicious since how a person could recite and accumulate eight million times of Mani Mantra, and so all disciples should listen to and follow Guru’s teaching exactly. The reason why there are no accomplishment and no change from any disciple is because they do not truly follow and practice the guru’s teachings.

January 31, 2009

At the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Kyoto, Japan, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted the “Black Water Jambhala Dharma” in the morning and the “Elephant Jambhala Dharma” in the afternoon. There were a total of 86 persons that had attended the puja including the local believers from Japan, believers from Australia and disciples from Taiwan. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche enlightened that there are Four Families for Esoteric Buddhism: Buddha Family, Padma Family, Vajra Family and Dharma Protector Family. Had the practitioner not practiced the Buddha Family and Vajra Family, and then the practitioner could not have the power of Dharma Protector Family. A Protector is a Bodhisattva who protects the Buddha. There are sixteen grounds for different Bodhisattvas. Jambhala is a eighth ground Bodhisattva. A Bodhisattva whose ground is greater than the eighth ground is called a Great Bodhisattva, such as Avalokiteshvara. People’s virtues can be viewed from two aspects: Wealth and Longevity. In order to have long live, one must practice not to create any killing karma, including not eating any meat. Many Japanese have trouble not to eat any meat. They think meat is to serve as people’s food. The reason why an area or a country will have war is all because of eating meat. Especially eating meat of living ones will result in more wars. In order to have longevity, one must not eat any meat. It has already been proved by the medical studies that eating meat will result in many diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer and strokes, etc…Talking about wealth, as long as one lives in this world, one must have wealth everyday. It was written in the Buddha’s sutras: The reason why one has wealth in this life is the result of practicing in the past lives. It is the result of doing charity and offering! We must take a portion of the money we earn to do charity and offering. For example to give money to and help those who have no money to see a doctor, have no money to study and those who are too poor to eat. We must also make offering to parents and teachers who had ever educated us. From Buddha Dharma’s point of view, those teachers are our guru, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

The function of the “Black Water Jambhala ” and the “Elephant Jambhala” is a little bit of difference. For many people, they save their money in the bank and yet the money will be borrowed inexplicably or they have done wrong investment. These situations are called Snatch of Wealth. Sometimes the money is lost inexplicably or the jewelry is disappeared. The reason why these have happen is all because of the evil things they had done in the past lives and this life. For example the conducts resulting from greedy thought like business man’s dishonest conduct, poisonous milk or poisonous rice incidents and house builder that does shoddy work and use inferior material, etc…These greedy thoughts are like the ghost’s so therefore these thoughts are the same as ghost’s thinking. Ghost will suck in the “chi” of wealth and block the wealth that one should have owned. In addition, for those who engage in killing business such as restaurant owners, fisherman, they can’t keep their wealth and the wealth they deserved will not come, either. The concept of Buddha dharma is not a superstition but the simple law of causes and conditions. What you did will result in what you get! As it was written in the Buddhist sutras: Poverty too is one of the sorrows of human being. By conducting the “Black Water Jambhala Dharma” today, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche can help solve the problems like these. However all of you must not do any evil things such as killing and stealing in the future.

The tantric texts of the “Black Water Jambhala Dharma” which was conducted today was the Terma Dharma passed down by Guru Rinpoche—-Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism. By the causes and conditions, the reason why every one of you is able to hear this dharma and attend this puja in this life is because that you had attended this puja in your past life. However you had forgotten all about it after reincarnation. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had conducted this puja today to bring out your conditions again.

Conducting Black Water Jambhala Dharma can help you eliminate your obstacles so as to earn wealth you deserved. Then you will be able to do virtuous deeds to benefit others, the country, and the society. Buddha Sakyamuni has enlightened us that we ought to divide our income into five parts, one for those who in need and one for offerings. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has helped many people by conducting this dharma. It is Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s wish to benefit others, the country and the society through this dharma. The year 2009 will still be a year that is not too good. If you attend this puja with a reverent heart, Dharma protectors will protect you to get through of it calmly; but you can not do evil deeds. The attitudes of conducting the dharma are extremely critical. The motivation of what Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche does is to help others. It then corresponds with those of Bodhisattvas’ because the purposes of Bodhisattvas’ coming to this mundane world are to help sentient beings as well. Although it would take only one hour to conduct this dharma, but the preparation for it takes a fairly long time. To conduct this dharma perfectly, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche has practiced it one thousand times. While in retreats, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche kept practicing this dharma till the signs emerged and were identical what is depicted in the Dharma texts, so be able to help sentient beings. Prior to all of these practices, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche had practiced Avalokiteshvara Dharma, recited Mani Mantras one million times, and retreated for three months. Moreover, before practicing Avalokiteshvara Dharma, it was required to practice Basic Dharma for three years; before practicing Basic Dharma, it was required to practicing Buddhist Sutra for twelve years.

Today, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche comes to Japan with unselfish dedications to people here. It costs very much money to come here each time, then why still come? One of the reasons is, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche ever sowed the conditions with Japan in one of his past lives. Second, Japan needs Orthodox Buddha-Dharma. Especially during this troubling era, many Japanese committed suicides or homicides. These are all from disturbed hearts and discontented minds. In such a chaotic period of time, Buddha’s teachings are especially needed for helping all beings. It is said in Buddha’s Sutra that each accomplished practitioner, siddha, has different conditions with each different place. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche does not know Japanese and, therefore, it is truly not easy for Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to be here today. It is Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s hope that our Japanese friends could cherish this condition.

Two o’clock in the afternoon, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche conducted Elephant Jambhala Dharma which would help those who develop the mind of doing charity make much money. If everyone in the world all did virtuous deeds, there would be no war and no killing. Ksitigarbha in Buddhist Sutra have said that every thought coming out from each human being on earth is karma, and is sin. Simply speaking, everyone’s thoughts are for their own benefits and feelings. If everyone does virtuous deeds, then the world will be all virtuous. Starting from small places, oneself, family, friends, the workplace, any of the participating groups, the society, the whole nation, mankind, all animals, and even the entire universe, as long as everyone does virtuous deeds his or her own bad things will go far away. So safe and sound does not come from one’s praying. Praying for safe and sound in a temple is only a custom; there will be no help doing so. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, without considering Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s own benefits, comes to Kyoto to help this small group of people. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche hopes that everyone can influence other people, starting from oneself, and then Kyoto, the society, and the whole nation, to make Japan a country to live well. This sounds not easy; but as long as everyone possesses this mind to do it, it will be realized one day. Kyoto came into contact with China starting from Sui Dynasty and later each of the Buddhist sects in China all made contact with Japan. Some eminent Japanese monks had once visited Tibet to learn tantras as well. But they did not transmit the tantras back to Japan. Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche hopes the Drikung’s teachings could really be transmitted in Japan in Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s lifetime. Conducting two Jambhala Dharma consecutively, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche hopes that the Japanese believers could feel the mercy and compassion of Buddha Dharma. Further hope that everyone can have more fortune and more power of doing virtuous deeds in one’s work and career.

White Mahakala is Tibet’s Dharma protector and listens to Avalokiteshvara’s assignment. The dharma ritual would not work if the person conducting the ritual does not have the same mercy and compassion as Avalokiteshvara. Yunga Rinpoche, a Drikung’s Mahasiddha, to Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, transmitted this dharma personally. Yunga Rinpoche knew that it is not easy for people to earn money in the modern world, so he especially transmitted this dharma, which can be used in today’s business society. Elephant Jambhala was a country’s prince a long time ago. He had a lot of money, and as long as someone seeking his help, he gave him money but never asked what one would do. So he did good deed carelessly; his money was used by bad people, was used to buy weapons by bandit. As a result, his charity did harm to a lot of beings. The prince was killed and beheaded by the heaven deity who felt what the prince did would harm a lot of people. The prince, however, had a heart of doing good deeds. Therefore White Mahakala took him as a Dharma protector. Since his head had disappeared when he had been killed, White Mahakala put him on an elephant’s head. In ancient times the elephant was a symbol of the greatest strength, so Elephant Jambhala has a great amount of fortune.

Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche particularly explained that making madala offering is to make offering to Guru who conducts the rituals and also represents Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to accept the offerings. No virtues will be accumulated if no offering is made. The Mountain Meru represents the whole Galaxy, and there is a mountain called Mountain Meru in the center of the Galaxy. The mountain and water landscape in the venue’s backyard is the landscape of Mountain Meru. There are four earth-like planets that surround the Mountain Meru. Among them, the earth is named Jambudvipa (Southern Continent), and there are also beings living in the Furvavideha (Eastern Continent), Aparagodaniya (Western Continent), and Uttarakuru (Northern Continent). The world that Sakyamuni Buddha ever told definitely exists, and modern equipments have not discovered it yet in nowadays. Make offerings to the Mountain Meru is to offer the best in the world with the banners in 5 colors that represent all of elements. Usually the statue of Amitayus Buddha is used for the Buddha in the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha to pray the Guru live long and abide in the world. The offering to Buddha represents awakening and the making offering during attending pujas would originate the awakening. Sutra represents wisdom that every of beings possesses naturally and could be enlightened by attending pujas. Stupa is used to deposit ringsel, and the old stupa seen in Kyoto definitely contains ringsel inside. It represents attending puja to have opportunity in learning Dharma in the future. There will be one day to liberate the suffering and sorrow of cycle of birth and death by learning Dharma. Therefore the effect of attending pujas is to liberate from the cycle of reincarnation for a given life, which is the reason why Sakyamuni Buddha teaches Dharma.
