The Report of Construction Progress of the Glorious Jewel Temple (October 26, 2023)

In 2019, the founding abbot guru, Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, with his own efforts, began the construction project of the Glorious Jewel Temple. Everything was in accordance with the law and regulations of environmental protection. Rinpoche planned complicated construction issues and details toilfully. Facing the shortage of workers, lack of construction materials, and soaring prices brought on by the pandemic, because Rinpoche cherished the donations from believers for the temple project, he did not take the turnkey construction method for work projects. Instead, he used the separate contract method to allocate various projects to different companies. This was because the costs of turnkey contracts must be much higher than the costs of separate contracts. Rinpoche worked very hard with his mind and physical strength, negotiating the prices – one by one – with a few dozen contractors, large or small. Such acts have already saved over NT$ 100 million on the temple’s construction costs. Without being afraid of severe and harsh external environment, in presupposition of taking care of the quality of construction, Rinpoche got all difficulties removed, and, with his utmost capability, saved the expenses. Under Rinpoche’s painstaking leadership, the construction of the overall structure of the temple will soon be completed. The remaining buildings have already been progressed to the interior details. The 18 solemn, magnificent Buddha statues have already been started the operation of ‘filling a Buddha statue.’

Rinpoche has harbored a great, compassionate aspiration to liberate sentient beings, and has not spared his body and life to get the temple constructed. Now, the magnificent, solemn Glorious Jewel Temple has been ‘standing’ high, majestically in this quiet, verdant valley. We pray Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s auspicious, pure Dharma lineage will flourish forever to benefit all sentient beings abundantly.

Retreat Center’s construction progress:
Main structure: 100% completed;
water-electricity installation: 65% completed.

Administration Center’s construction progress:
Main structure: 100% completed;
water-electricity installation: 60% completed

Founding Abbot’s Residence’s construction progress:
Main structure: 100% completed;
water-electricity installation: 65% completed.

Temple’s overall construction progress: 86% completed.
