The Guru Yoga Puja Is Performed to Perfect Completion at the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center in Kyoto, Japan

Every August, His Eminence Vajra Guru Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche holds a puja at the Kyoto Buddhist Center during the Daimonji Festival, a popular Japanese folk event. This year he took time out of his busy schedule to compassionately preside over the Guru Yoga Puja, helping everyone to rapidly accumulate good fortune for cultivation. During the puja, a Lamp-Offering Ritual was conducted, during which Rinpoche compassionately gave the attendees the chance to light lamps; these were passed down among the attendees one after another as offerings to the guru, the Buddhas, and the Bodhisattvas in order to reduce sentient beings’ hindrances along their path to learning Buddhism. Rinpoche also went out of his way to expound the auspicious Long Life Prayers of the Drikung Kagyu Order’s 36th and 37th throne holders, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang and His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, and explained the causal conditions and profound significance of Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche’s Long Life Prayer bestowed by the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. Once the puja had come to a perfect completion, Rinpoche granted the attendees an opportunity to view a Manchurian copy of the Buddhist Canon, and afterward allowed them to make prostrations to it so that they could accumulate resources and good fortune for practicing Buddhism. continue reading>>
